What does holding FXUSD let you do?
FXUSD is intended to give you a dollar-linked asset for use in DeFi, rather than ownership or voting rights in f(x) Protocol. The protocol says fxUSD can support stablecoin strategies and is minted to fuel its leverage products for ETH and WBTC. Its V2 design also aims to let users take leveraged long or short positions, but holding FXUSD alone does not give you a leveraged position or guarantee a yield.
The protocol describes built-in yield and a strong dollar peg as features. Treat those as design aims, not promises: returns can change, and a stablecoin can trade below or above $1. You may find FXUSD useful as a dollar-denominated balance within supported applications, but its usefulness depends on liquidity, integrations and whether the app accepts the version you hold. Check the token and network before sending it anywhere.
What backs FXUSD, and how is its peg supported?
f(x) Protocol describes FXUSD as backed by wstETH and WBTC. Those are crypto assets, so FXUSD is not the same as a dollar held in a bank account or a token redeemable for cash by default. The project’s description does not give a collateral ratio or guarantee that you can redeem each token for one US dollar.
A stability pool is described as helping maintain the peg through automatic swaps between FXUSD and USDC depending on market conditions. That mechanism may support trading around $1, but it cannot eliminate market, liquidity or contract risk. If collateral values fall sharply, trading dries up or the protocol’s mechanisms do not work as intended, the peg could weaken. Do not treat the word “stable” as a guarantee of principal or a fixed return. Before relying on FXUSD for payments or savings, check current collateral, redemption and stability-pool terms in f(x) Protocol’s documentation.
Which networks and wallets can hold FXUSD?
FXUSD is issued on Ethereum and Base. It is not the native token of either chain. You can generally store an ERC-20 token in a wallet that supports the relevant EVM network, but make sure you select the same network on both the sending and receiving sides. A wallet address may look identical across networks while holding different assets on each one.
Before receiving or sending FXUSD, verify the token contract through f(x) Protocol’s official channels and confirm that the recipient supports FXUSD on that chain. Do not rely on a ticker search alone: unrelated tokens can use the same symbol. Hardware wallets can keep signing keys offline, while software wallets are convenient for interacting with DeFi; either way, protect your recovery phrase and never share it. A token held on Ethereum will not automatically appear as FXUSD on Base. Moving value between networks requires a supported cross-chain route, with its own risks and costs.
How much FXUSD exists, and can its supply change?
As of 2026-11-08, about 56.8 million FXUSD were in circulation, and reported total supply was also about 56.8 million. No maximum supply is specified. The reported market capitalization was about $56.8 million, based on a price near $1; these are snapshots, not fixed values, and can change as tokens are minted, burned or traded.
FXUSD is minted by f(x) Protocol to support its products, according to the protocol description. That means supply can respond to protocol activity rather than follow a fixed issuance schedule. The project does not specify a maximum cap in the facts here, so you should not assume supply is permanently limited. Check the current supply and protocol rules before making decisions that depend on how many tokens exist. A market price near $1 does not by itself prove that every token can be redeemed for a dollar.
How can you get FXUSD, and what does moving it cost?
People can obtain a token like FXUSD through a crypto exchange or a decentralized exchange if it is listed and available on the network they use. Listings, liquidity and access can differ between Ethereum and Base, so check the exact token contract, trading pair and network before transferring funds. A displayed ticker is not enough to identify the correct asset.
A transfer on Ethereum usually requires ETH for gas; on Base, gas is also paid in ETH. The amount varies with network demand and transaction complexity, and f(x) Protocol does not publish a fixed transfer fee. Moving FXUSD between Ethereum and Base may require a bridge or another cross-chain service. Such services may charge fees and introduce additional smart-contract, liquidity and routing risks; a bridge is not the same as an ordinary wallet transfer. Confirm the route, destination network and expected fees before approving a transaction. A transfer sent on an unsupported route may be difficult or impossible to recover.
What could go wrong while you hold FXUSD?
The main risks are losing the dollar peg, insufficient liquidity, changing collateral values and failures in the protocol’s smart contracts or supporting services. Because the stated backing includes wstETH and WBTC, a sharp fall in collateral value could put pressure on the system. A stability mechanism may help manage market conditions, but it cannot guarantee that FXUSD will always trade at $1 or that you can exit at your preferred price.
f(x) Protocol has not published a guaranteed redemption term or an audit status in the project information available for this guide. Look for current documentation on collateral, liquidation, contract audits and any restrictions before using FXUSD in a strategy. Also consider chain and bridge risks: sending to the wrong network or relying on a compromised bridge can result in loss. Do not keep funds in a wallet or application unless you understand how you would access or move them if the peg or service came under stress.
What is known about FXUSD’s history?
The exact launch date for FXUSD is not specified. f(x) Protocol documentation describing its stablecoin and leverage products appeared in 2025, while the token’s recorded price history includes a low of about $0.953 on 2024-12-05 and a high of about $1.038 on 2026-02-05. Those historical prices show that FXUSD has traded away from $1; they do not predict its future price.
The protocol’s description has evolved around two related aims: a dollar-linked stablecoin and leverage products using ETH and WBTC. Its V2 description says FXUSD is minted to fuel those positions. If you are assessing the token now, use current product documentation rather than assuming older descriptions or strategies still apply. Confirm which FXUSD version, network and contract an application supports before interacting with it.
By the numbers
f(x) Protocol fxUSD in numbers
f(x) Protocol fxUSD (FXUSD) is ranked #399 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $56.8M and a price of $1.00 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($56.8M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 0.0% over 7 days, up 0.0% over 30 days, up 0.0% over the past year. It trades about 4% below its all-time high of $1.04, set on Feb 5, 2026.
About 56.83M FXUSD are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $19.4M, or 34% of its market cap: very high turnover.
FXUSD has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

FXUSD FAQs
Is FXUSD backed by dollars?
f(x) Protocol describes FXUSD as backed by wstETH and WBTC, not as a claim on cash in a bank account. The protocol information here does not specify guaranteed dollar redemption terms.
Which networks support FXUSD?
FXUSD is issued on Ethereum and Base. Use a wallet that supports the relevant network and verify the token contract before receiving or sending it.
How does FXUSD try to stay near $1?
The protocol describes a stability pool that uses automatic swaps between FXUSD and USDC depending on market conditions. That can support the peg but does not guarantee that FXUSD will always trade at $1.
What is the supply of FXUSD?
As of 2026-11-08, reported circulating and total supply were each about 56.8 million FXUSD. No maximum supply is specified, and the protocol can mint FXUSD for its products.
What fees do FXUSD transfers have?
Ethereum and Base transactions require ETH for gas, and costs vary with network demand. A cross-chain transfer may add a bridge or service fee as well as extra smart-contract and routing risks.
What is the market cap of f(x) Protocol fxUSD?
As of Nov 8, 2026, f(x) Protocol fxUSD had a market cap of about $56.8M, ranking #399 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

Which blockchains is FXUSD on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum, Base.
