## What does holding USDP mean?
Pax Dollar (USDP) is a stablecoin issued by Paxos that aims to stay close to the value of one U.S. dollar. You might hold it to move dollar-denominated value between supported crypto wallets or use it in crypto services that accept USDP. It is not the same as holding dollars in a bank account: its value depends on the token, its issuer and the networks it uses.
As of 2026-11-08, USDP traded at about $1.00. That price is a snapshot, not a guarantee that you can always exchange one token for one dollar. Before relying on USDP for payments or a short-term store of value, check that the exchange or service you plan to use supports the correct version of the token and allows deposits and withdrawals. Paxos issues USDP; its current redemption terms and eligibility requirements are worth checking directly before you count on redeeming tokens for cash.
## Which USDP network and wallet should you choose?
USDP is issued on Ethereum and Solana. It is not the native coin of either network, so make sure your wallet or exchange supports USDP on the specific chain you intend to use. A USDP deposit sent through an unsupported network may not arrive as expected, and recovery can be difficult or impossible.
You can hold USDP in a custodial exchange account or in a self-custody wallet that supports the relevant network and token. With an exchange, the provider controls the keys and its account, withdrawal and custody terms apply. With a self-custody wallet, you control the recovery phrase and are responsible for keeping it secure. Transfers also require the network’s native asset to pay transaction fees—typically ETH on Ethereum or SOL on Solana. Check the selected network, recipient address and any exchange deposit instructions before confirming a transfer.
## How much USDP exists, and can you rely on its price?
The reported circulating and total supply was about 22.5 million USDP as of 2026-11-08. No maximum supply is reported. Stablecoin supply can change as tokens are issued or removed, so treat this as a dated figure rather than a fixed limit.
The same supply figure does not tell you how much USDP is available to trade on a particular exchange or chain. Liquidity can vary by venue and network, and a token displayed under the USDP name may not be the version you need. If you are moving a meaningful amount, check the exchange’s supported chain, current deposit and withdrawal status, and available trading depth. Avoid treating a near-one-dollar market price as proof that every venue will let you exchange USDP for cash at that rate.
## What can go wrong when you store or use USDP?
USDP can lose its dollar peg, and the price may move away from $1 if confidence, trading liquidity or access to redemption changes. You also take issuer risk: Paxos issues the token, so its operations, policies and ability to meet redemption requests matter. Review Paxos’s current disclosures and redemption terms rather than assuming that every holder can redeem directly.
For self-custody, write your recovery phrase offline and keep it private; anyone who obtains it may control your tokens. Use a wallet you can independently verify, and beware of fake USDP tokens, impersonation scams and requests to share your phrase. Before sending, check the chain and address, and consider a small test transfer when practical. Smart-contract or network problems can also interrupt transfers or expose you to loss. If USDP is held on an exchange, account access, platform solvency and withdrawal restrictions are additional risks.
