Owning Amp (AMP): Uses, Storage and Risks

AMP is intended to secure value transfers as collateral, but owning the token alone does not put it to work. Here’s what to know about its networks, supply, fees and risks.

What does holding AMP let you do?

AMP is designed to act as collateral that can help secure value transfers. The project describes collateral partitions that can be assigned to an account, application or transaction, and smart-contract managers that can lock, release or redirect the collateral. Flexa is one example of a network described as using AMP to support payment transactions.

Holding AMP in a wallet does not, by itself, mean your tokens are securing a payment or earning a return. That depends on whether you actively put AMP into a supported collateral arrangement and on the arrangement’s terms. Collateral can also be exposed to loss if a secured transaction fails and the rules require it to be used to cover the shortfall. Check how a specific pool handles deposits, withdrawals and risk before interacting with it; the token’s general purpose does not guarantee a particular benefit or payout.

Which networks and wallets support AMP?

AMP is issued on Ethereum and Near, and it is not listed as the native token of either chain. On Ethereum, AMP is an ERC-20 token. The project also describes AMP as available on Near, so confirm the network and token representation before sending funds; a token with the same ticker on another network may not be interchangeable.

You can store AMP in a wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard. For self-custody, keep your recovery phrase private and make sure you can access the correct wallet account and network. Losing a recovery phrase can mean losing access, while sending AMP to an unsupported address or chain can make recovery difficult or impossible. If you use an exchange or custodial wallet, check which AMP networks it supports for deposits and withdrawals. Do not rely on the ticker alone to identify the right asset.

How much AMP exists, and what can change its supply?

AMP has a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens. As of November 8, 2026, about 89.8 billion were circulating, against a total supply of about 99.7 billion. These are dated figures, not a promise that the circulating amount will stay fixed. The difference between circulating and total supply can matter because tokens entering circulation may affect the amount available to trade.

The project description explains how AMP can be used as collateral, but it does not specify a supply schedule or explain what events change circulating supply. Do not assume that staking, collateral use or token transfers automatically reduce the supply. For context, AMP’s market price was about $0.00066 on November 8, 2026, but that figure can change quickly and is not a measure of the token’s usefulness or future value.

How do people get and store AMP?

People generally obtain AMP through a crypto exchange that lists it or by receiving it from another wallet. Availability, trading pairs and identity checks depend on the service and your location. This is not a recommendation to buy: before using a platform, check its fees, custody arrangements, withdrawal support and the exact network it uses for AMP.

For self-custody, choose a wallet that supports the network and token representation you intend to hold. Keep a small amount of that network’s native token available if you may need to send AMP later, since token transfers generally require a network fee paid separately. For longer-term storage, protect your recovery phrase offline and never share it with a person or website claiming to help recover or stake your tokens. If you use a custodial service, your access depends on its controls and continued operation.

What does it cost to move AMP?

Sending AMP costs a network transaction fee, and the amount depends on the chain, congestion and transaction complexity. On Ethereum, fees are paid in ETH and can rise when the network is busy. On Near, fees are paid under that network’s fee system. A token transfer and an interaction with a collateral contract are different transactions, so using AMP in a contract can cost more than simply sending it.

Moving AMP between networks may also involve a bridge or another conversion service, if one supports the route you need. That can add service charges and introduces risks beyond the ordinary network fee, including contract bugs, delays, liquidity limits or sending the wrong token representation. Fees are not fixed by AMP itself. Check the destination network, total quoted cost and withdrawal minimum before confirming, and do not assume a bridge transfer is reversible.

What could go wrong when you hold or use AMP?

AMP’s main risk is that its intended use depends on other systems adopting and operating collateral arrangements. Smart-contract errors, failed transactions, compromised keys or changes to a payment network can affect how useful collateral is. If AMP is locked in a contract, you may not be able to withdraw immediately, and collateral rules may expose tokens to loss. Holding AMP also carries the usual crypto risks: volatile prices, limited liquidity at times, and irreversible transfers.

Regulatory treatment is another uncertainty. AMP has been associated with an “alleged securities” category, but that label is not itself a legal ruling. As of November 8, 2026, AMP was about $0.00066, with a market capitalization of about $58.9 million; both figures can move. Consider whether you can tolerate losing the value of your holdings and whether you understand the specific contract before committing tokens.

What is known about AMP’s history?

Amp is known for its collateral-token design, including partitions and collateral managers intended to support value transfers. The project description points to Flexa as an example of a network that can use AMP to secure transactions. An exact launch date is not established here, so avoid treating any single date as confirmed without checking the project’s own records.

AMP has also had a sharply changing market history. Its recorded all-time high was about $0.1208 on June 16, 2021, while its recorded low was about $0.000356 on August 19, 2026. Those historical extremes show the scale of past price movement; they do not indicate what AMP will do next. If you compare prices or supply figures, use dates because token-market data changes continuously.

By the numbers

Amp in numbers

Amp (AMP) is ranked #387 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $58.9M and a price of $0.0006561 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $65.4M, so roughly 90% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 7.2% over 7 days, down 6.2% over 30 days, down 74.3% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $0.1208, set on Jun 16, 2021.

About 89.78B AMP are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100B (90% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $7.74M, or 13% of its market cap: high turnover.

AMP has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Near. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

AMP FAQs

What is AMP used for?

AMP is designed as collateral for value transfers, including payment transactions. A specific use depends on a network or smart contract that accepts AMP and the rules it applies.

Which networks is AMP on?

AMP is issued on Ethereum and Near. Check that your wallet and the receiving service support the same network and token representation before transferring it.

Does holding AMP earn rewards?

No. Holding AMP in a wallet does not automatically stake it or earn rewards. Any collateral or staking arrangement depends on a particular supported contract and its terms.

What fees do AMP transfers have?

AMP transfers require a network fee, and the cost varies with the chain and its current conditions. Ethereum fees are paid in ETH; other networks use their own fee systems.

How can I store AMP safely?

AMP can be held in a compatible self-custody wallet or through a custodial service that supports it. With self-custody, protect your recovery phrase and check the network carefully before sending.

What is the market cap of Amp?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Amp had a market cap of about $58.9M, ranking #387 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of AMP?

Amp's all-time high is $0.1208, reached on Jun 16, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.0003560 (Aug 19, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of AMP?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 89.78B AMP were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 100B.

Which blockchains is AMP on?

It has token contracts on Ethereum, Near.
