What can you use WMTX for?

WMTX is the utility token for the World Mobile network, a project developing decentralized mobile connectivity. The token is intended to support network activity: World Mobile says participants can stake WMTX or operate an AirNode that provides telecom services, with rewards for contributing to the network. WMTX is also used for network transaction fees.

That gives the token a practical role within the project, but it does not guarantee that demand for WMTX will grow or that staking will be profitable. Rewards, if offered, can depend on the network’s rules and performance, and the token’s market value can change sharply. Before committing tokens, check the current staking conditions, including any lockup, withdrawal rules, reward calculation and fees. Treat expected rewards as uncertain, not as a fixed return.

Which chains carry WMTX, and what should your wallet support?

WMTX has been issued on Base, Cardano, Arbitrum, Solana and BNB Chain. It is not identified as the native token of any of those networks, so check which network a service or wallet expects before sending it. A token displayed as WMTX on one chain may not be directly usable on another.

Choose a wallet that explicitly supports both the relevant chain and the WMTX token. Before transferring, confirm the receiving network and token contract address against World Mobile’s official materials. A small test transfer can help catch a network mismatch, though it cannot protect you from a fake address or compromised wallet. If you use an exchange, check which WMTX network it supports for deposits and withdrawals; exchange listings and supported networks can differ. Don’t rely on the ticker alone when identifying the token.

How much WMTX is in circulation?

WMTX has a maximum supply of 2 billion tokens. As of 2026-11-08, about 851.9 million were reported as circulating, out of 2 billion total. The difference between circulating and total supply means some tokens were not counted as circulating at that time; it does not, by itself, tell you when or how any remaining tokens may enter circulation.

Supply figures can change, so check an up-to-date token supply record before relying on them. A maximum supply is not the same as a promise that the market price will rise: price also depends on demand, liquidity and broader market conditions. If you are evaluating WMTX, consider the circulating amount alongside the total and maximum supplies, and look for clear information on token release schedules and how tokens are allocated. Don’t treat a supply cap as a measure of safety or value.

What should you check before staking or running an AirNode?

Staking WMTX or operating an AirNode ties your tokens or equipment to a network that is still being developed. Before taking part, confirm that you are using the official staking or operator setup, and read the current terms for rewards, lockups, withdrawals, operating costs and any penalties. Don’t commit tokens you may need during a lockup or service disruption.

There are risks beyond token-price changes. Staking or operator software can have technical faults or security weaknesses, and an AirNode may require reliable connectivity, hardware and ongoing maintenance. Rewards are not guaranteed, and the value of any rewards can fall. Check whether the relevant smart contracts and network components have independent audits, and what those audits cover; an audit of one contract does not establish that every component is safe. Avoid relying on projected rewards to justify costs.

How can you store WMTX without taking avoidable risks?

For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the correct WMTX network, protect its recovery phrase offline, and never share it with anyone claiming to help you stake or claim rewards. Use a hardware wallet if it fits your needs, and verify transaction details on the device before approving them. Keep only the amount you need in a wallet connected to unfamiliar apps.

WMTX has several chain versions, so a wrong-network transfer or unsupported bridge can leave tokens inaccessible. Fake token listings, phishing sites, malicious approvals and compromised devices are also common crypto risks. Review permissions before connecting a wallet, and revoke approvals you no longer need using a trusted tool. If you hold WMTX with a custodian instead, check its withdrawal rules and custody protections; you depend on that provider to safeguard and release your tokens.
