What can you use Tangent USG for?
USG is Tangent Finance’s Ethereum stablecoin, designed to stay near one US dollar. The protocol describes it as an over-collateralized debt position (CDP) token: users deposit eligible collateral, borrow USG against it, and may keep much of the collateral’s yield. The collateral includes boosted Curve liquidity-pool tokens. Pendle LP tokens and PTs are described as planned additions, not as collateral you should assume is already supported.
If you hold USG, its main purpose is to represent dollar-like value within Tangent’s DeFi system. Tangent also offers sUSG, a separate savings product that distributes protocol revenue; holding USG alone does not mean you earn that revenue. Check the current product terms and supported collateral before interacting with the protocol. A stablecoin’s intended price is not a promise that you can always redeem it for one dollar or sell it at that price.
Which wallet and network do you need for USG?
USG is issued on Ethereum, rather than being the native coin of a blockchain. You therefore need an Ethereum-compatible wallet that can hold Ethereum tokens and connect to Tangent Finance if you want to use its DeFi features. The facts here do not identify specific wallets as supported, so confirm compatibility in the wallet and protocol interfaces before sending funds.
For a transfer, check that the asset is USG on Ethereum and verify the token details through Tangent Finance’s official channels. Do not rely on the ticker alone: unrelated tokens can use the same or similar symbols. Make sure the receiving address supports Ethereum assets, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure. Ethereum transactions require ETH for network fees; those fees are separate from any protocol charges, which Tangent does not publish here. A transfer to the wrong network or address may be difficult or impossible to recover.
How much USG is in circulation?
As of November 8, 2026, USG’s reported circulating supply is about 3.87 million, against a total supply of about 6.78 million. A maximum supply is not published. The same date’s reported price was about $0.994, close to but below one dollar. These figures can change, and market price is not the same as a guaranteed redemption value.
The difference between circulating and total supply matters when judging how much USG may already be available to trade. It does not, by itself, explain what controls issuance, how quickly more USG could enter circulation, or what collateral backs each token at a given moment. Before relying on USG for payments or savings, check Tangent’s current supply and collateral information and whether there is enough market liquidity for the amount you may need to sell. Do not treat a dollar target as proof that you can exit at that price.
How should you store USG, and what could go wrong?
Keep USG in a wallet where you control the recovery phrase, and store that phrase offline in a secure place. Never share it or enter it into a site or message prompted by someone claiming to help. Review transaction details before approving a token spend, and avoid granting unlimited permissions unless you understand the exposure. A compromised wallet or mistaken transfer can cost you the tokens.
USG also carries protocol risks. Its backing depends on the collateral and Tangent’s smart contracts; bugs, exploits, collateral losses or poor liquidity could weaken the token’s value or make it harder to exit. If you borrow USG against collateral, a fall in collateral value or a change in its risk parameters could lead to liquidation. sUSG has additional exposure to the savings product and the protocol revenue it distributes. Check for current independent security reviews, collateral and liquidation rules, and redemption terms before depositing. No stablecoin is risk-free, and USG may trade below its intended dollar value.
By the numbers
Tangent USG in numbers
Tangent USG (USG) is ranked #1,858 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $3.85M and a price of $0.9940 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $6.74M, so roughly 57% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 0.2% over 7 days, down 0.2% over 30 days. It is trading at or near its all-time high of $0.9976.
About 3.87M USG are in circulation, from a total supply of 6.78M. No hard maximum supply is listed.
24-hour trading volume was about $26.0K, or 0.7% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
USG has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

USG FAQs
Is Tangent USG always worth one dollar?
USG is designed to track one US dollar, but it is not guaranteed to trade or redeem at exactly $1. Its market price can move with liquidity, collateral conditions and confidence in the protocol.
What blockchain is USG on?
USG is issued on Ethereum, so use an Ethereum-compatible wallet that supports the token. Confirm the token and network details through Tangent Finance’s official channels before transferring.
What backs Tangent USG?
Tangent describes USG as backed by over-collateralized positions using productive collateral, including boosted Curve LP tokens. Pendle LP tokens and PTs are described as planned additions, so check current collateral support before using them.
What is the supply of USG?
As of November 8, 2026, reported circulating supply was about 3.87 million USG and total supply about 6.78 million. A maximum supply is not published, and supply figures can change.
Does holding USG earn yield?
USG itself is the stablecoin; Tangent’s separate sUSG savings product distributes protocol revenue. That revenue is not a guaranteed return, and using sUSG adds product and smart-contract risks.
What is the market cap of Tangent USG?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Tangent USG had a market cap of about $3.85M, ranking #1,858 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
