## What is EURQ meant to do?

EURQ is a euro-pegged stablecoin issued by Quantoz Payments BV. It is intended to track the euro at a 1:1 rate and provide euro liquidity for trading and arbitrage in European crypto markets. You may also encounter it in transfers or other crypto-market activity, but the stated primary purpose is trading liquidity.

EURQ is an electronic money token, not a bank deposit or a euro held in your own bank account. Its value depends on the issuer, reserve arrangements and the blockchains on which it operates. A target peg does not guarantee that every exchange will always quote EURQ at exactly one euro, or that you can redeem it whenever you choose.

Quantoz Payments BV is described as an Electronic Money Institution supervised by the Dutch Central Bank. The token is designed to meet MiCA requirements, and its EMT whitepaper has been submitted to the Dutch Financial Authorities. That wording is not the same as a guarantee that every holder has identical protections or redemption access; check the current issuer terms before relying on EURQ as cash.

## Which EURQ chain and wallet should you use?

EURQ has been issued on Ethereum, XRPL, Algorand and Polygon. The project describes its Ethereum version as an ERC-20 token. A token bearing the same ticker on another chain is not automatically interchangeable with an Ethereum EURQ, so choose the network supported by both your wallet and the exchange or service you are using.

For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the relevant chain and token standard. Before depositing or withdrawing, confirm the network and token contract details against Quantoz’s official information or the receiving platform. Sending EURQ to an address on the wrong network can make it difficult or impossible to recover.

You will generally need the chain’s native asset to pay transaction fees—for example, ETH for Ethereum transactions. Fees and confirmation times vary with network conditions and the service you use. Check the displayed fee before signing, and make a small test transfer when you are unsure that an address and network are correct.

## How does EURQ’s euro backing and supply work?

Quantoz says EURQ in circulation is backed at 102% by euros. The reserve is held by Stichting Quantoz, a bankruptcy-remote foundation, in bank accounts with systemically important banks and in highly liquid euro bonds. The foundation is described as prudentially supervised by the Dutch Central Bank. These arrangements are intended to support the token; they do not remove issuer, banking, reserve-management or redemption risks.

As of 2026-11-08, reported circulating supply was about 3.74 million EURQ and total supply was 5 million. No maximum supply is specified. Supply figures can change as tokens are issued or removed, so they are a snapshot rather than a permanent limit.

A euro peg is a target, not a promise that the market price cannot move. Trading liquidity, exchange access and confidence in the issuer can affect the price you see. Check the issuer’s current reserve disclosures and terms, as well as the price and available liquidity on the platform where you plan to use EURQ.

## How can you store EURQ without losing access?

If you keep EURQ in an exchange account, the platform controls the wallet and you rely on its security, withdrawal rules and continued support for the token. If you self-custody, you control the private keys, but you also take responsibility for protecting them and choosing the correct network.

For self-custody, use a reputable wallet compatible with your EURQ chain. Keep your recovery phrase offline and private; anyone who obtains it may be able to take your assets. Never enter it into a website or share it with someone claiming to offer support. Consider a hardware wallet if you can manage its setup and recovery process safely.

Before moving a substantial amount, verify the address, network and token details, then consider a small test transaction. Check that you can access the wallet and understand how to pay network fees. Keep in mind that a mistaken or fraudulent blockchain transfer may not be reversible, even if the token itself remains close to one euro.

## What could go wrong if you hold EURQ?

EURQ carries several kinds of risk. Its market price can move away from one euro, particularly if trading is thin or confidence in the token weakens. You also rely on Quantoz and the reserve structure, including the banks and assets used to back EURQ. Reserve backing does not eliminate the possibility of delays, disputes or limits when seeking redemption.

Blockchain risks apply too: network outages or congestion can delay transfers, smart-contract flaws can affect tokens, and sending EURQ to the wrong address or chain can result in permanent loss. Exchange users add platform custody and withdrawal risks; self-custody users can lose funds through stolen keys, phishing or a lost recovery phrase.

Before holding EURQ, check the issuer’s current redemption terms, reserve information and supported networks. Confirm whether your exchange or wallet supports the exact EURQ version you have. Do not treat a euro peg as a guarantee of immediate cash access or as a substitute for understanding the risks of the issuer and the platform you use.
