Owning Stader (SD): Uses, Supply and Risks
SD is Stader’s governance and utility token, not the crypto asset you deposit to liquid-stake. Check its network, token supply and the terms of any pool or bond before using it.

## What does holding SD let you do?
Stader (SD) is the governance and utility token for Stader, a non-custodial liquid-staking platform. Stader lets you stake certain proof-of-stake network assets through its products; SD is separate from the assets you deposit and from any liquid-staking token you may receive. Holding SD does not, by itself, mean your other crypto is staked or earns staking rewards.
SD holders can vote on protocol decisions such as upgrades, reward policies, validator selection criteria and expansion. Other stated uses include an SD Utility Pool, liquidity provision that may earn SD incentives if governance elects to offer them, and bonds for permissionless Ethereum ETHx node operators. The stated minimum bond is SD worth 0.4 ETH per validator; that is a protocol requirement, not a guaranteed return or a promise that anyone can run a validator without meeting other conditions.
Before using SD in a pool, bond or governance vote, check that the specific option is currently open and understand its lockup, exit conditions and smart-contract risks. Stader does not publish a single set of fees and exit terms that applies to every product and network.
## Which SD network and wallet should you use?
SD has been issued on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Solana and Fantom. It is not listed as the native token of any of those chains. The project describes SD as an ERC-20 token, so treat the Ethereum version as an ERC-20 and check the token standard and official contract details for any other network version before sending funds.
Use a wallet that supports the network and token standard you intend to use. A self-custody wallet gives you control of the private keys, but you are responsible for safeguarding them and selecting the correct network. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure to malware when it supports the relevant network and contract interaction. If you hold SD on an exchange, the exchange controls the on-chain wallet and withdrawal availability can depend on its support for that network.
Before transferring, verify the network and token contract through Stader’s official channels, then make sure the receiving wallet or exchange supports that exact version. Sending SD to an address on the wrong network, or to a service that does not support that version, can result in a loss that may not be reversible. Keep enough of the network’s native asset to pay transaction fees.
## How much SD exists, and could supply change?
As of 2026-11-08, about 76.6 million SD were circulating and total supply was 120 million. The supply data lists a maximum of 150 million, while Stader’s token description calls 120 million the maximum supply. That discrepancy matters if you are assessing dilution: check the token contract and current tokenomics before relying on either maximum figure.
The same dated snapshot put SD at about $0.102, with a market capitalization of about $7.8 million and fully diluted valuation of about $12.2 million. These are changeable market figures, not a guide to what SD is worth later. SD’s price can move sharply, and its historical price record does not predict future performance.
A circulating-supply figure does not tell you when or whether remaining tokens will enter circulation. Review current vesting, emissions and governance decisions if you need to understand potential supply changes. Do not assume that voting rights, pool incentives or demand for Stader products will support the token’s price.
## How can you store SD, and what can go wrong?
If you hold SD, protect the private keys or exchange account that controls it. For self-custody, keep your recovery phrase offline, never share it, and verify transaction details on your wallet or hardware-wallet screen before signing. Store a small test amount first when sending SD to a new address or across a network you have not used before.
The main risks include SD price volatility, changes to the token’s supply or utility, and governance decisions that may alter incentives or protocol rules. Stader’s staking products also involve smart-contract and validator risks; non-custodial does not mean risk-free. Liquid-staking assets can trade below the value of the underlying staked asset, and withdrawals may depend on network queues, product rules or available liquidity. Do not assume SD itself can be redeemed for staked crypto.
Check the particular product’s pool availability, fees, lockups and exit process before depositing assets or providing liquidity. Be cautious of fake tokens, impersonation and unsolicited messages asking you to connect a wallet or reveal a recovery phrase. A transaction you authorize can allow a contract to move tokens, so review approvals and revoke permissions you no longer need.
By the numbers
Stader in numbers
Stader (SD) is ranked #1,383 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $7.80M and a price of $0.1019 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $12.2M, so roughly 64% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 12.0% over 7 days, down 14.5% over 30 days, down 74.8% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $30.17, set on Mar 15, 2022.
About 76.61M SD are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 150M (51% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $607K, or 7.8% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
SD has token contracts on 5 chains we track, including Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
SD is linked to Stader, which we cover in our Staking rankings. See our Stader page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

SD FAQs
What is Stader SD used for?
SD is used for Stader governance and has additional stated uses involving an SD Utility Pool, liquidity provision and ETHx node-operator bonds. Whether an incentive or utility is currently available can depend on product status and governance decisions.
Which networks support SD?
SD has been issued on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Solana and Fantom. Confirm the exact network and token contract before sending, because a wallet or exchange may not support every version.
Can you stake SD to earn staking rewards?
Stader describes SD as a governance token; it is not the underlying asset you deposit in a liquid-staking product. Staking another asset through Stader may provide a liquid-staking token, but availability and terms depend on the network and product.
What is the maximum supply of SD?
As of 2026-11-08, about 76.6 million SD were circulating and total supply was 120 million. The supply data lists a 150 million maximum, while Stader’s token description gives 120 million, so check current tokenomics and the contract before relying on a maximum-supply figure.
How do you store SD safely?
Use a wallet that supports the specific SD network and token standard, and keep your recovery phrase offline if you control your own keys. Verify the token contract and receiving address before transferring; sending on an unsupported or incorrect network can lead to permanent loss.
What is the market cap of Stader?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Stader had a market cap of about $7.80M, ranking #1,383 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of SD?
Stader's all-time high is $30.17, reached on Mar 15, 2022. Its all-time low is $0.0914 (Aug 18, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of SD?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 76.61M SD were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 150M.
Which blockchains is SD on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Solana, Fantom.
