What does holding KOIN let you do?

KOIN is the native token of the Koinos blockchain, a layer-1 network designed for smart contracts and decentralized apps. Holding KOIN gives you network-use capacity through a resource called mana: KOIN is temporarily locked while you use that capacity, then gradually becomes available again. This differs from a fee model where each transaction permanently spends a token amount, but it does not mean network use has no cost or limits. Your available mana and the amount of KOIN you hold affect how much network capacity you can use.

Koinos also describes support for smart wallets and upgrades to core functionality through smart contracts. Its consensus design uses Proof of Burn. These features describe the network’s intended operation; they do not guarantee that apps will attract users or that KOIN will retain value.

Which network and wallet should you use for KOIN?

KOIN is intended for use on the Koinos blockchain. Before sending it, check that the wallet or exchange supports Koinos and that you have selected the Koinos network; a token with the same ticker on another network may not be interchangeable. The project’s description does not identify a complete, current list of supported wallets, so verify wallet compatibility using Koinos’ official guidance before transferring funds.

For a wallet that gives you control of the keys, make sure it supports KOIN and the functions you need, including receiving, sending and viewing your balance. A custodial exchange holds the keys for you, which adds counterparty risk and may limit withdrawals. If you are moving KOIN for the first time, send a small test amount and wait for confirmation before transferring the rest. Check the destination address and network carefully; blockchain transfers are generally difficult to reverse.

How much KOIN exists, and is there a supply cap?

As of 2026-03-27, Koinos had about 84.75 million KOIN circulating and about 84.85 million in total supply. No maximum supply is published in the token data, so you should not assume there is a fixed cap. Circulating and total supply can change, and figures from other dates may differ.

Market figures are snapshots, not stable token properties. On 2026-03-27, KOIN’s market capitalization was about $3.5 million; its 24-hour trading volume was unavailable. A small market capitalization and missing volume figure make it harder to judge how easily a large holding could be sold at a quoted price. Check current supply and market conditions before making a transaction, and remember that displayed prices may not reflect the price you can actually get for your amount.

How can you store KOIN more safely?

If you hold KOIN in a self-custody wallet, protect the recovery phrase or private key as carefully as the tokens themselves. Keep a written or otherwise secure offline backup, store it where other people cannot access it, and never share it with someone claiming to provide support. Anyone with the recovery phrase may be able to take the funds. Avoid entering it into websites or apps you reached through unsolicited messages.

Use a wallet that supports Koinos, keep its software up to date, and check the network and receiving address before sending. Consider a hardware wallet if it supports KOIN and suits your needs. For exchange-held KOIN, use a unique password and available account security features, but remember that the exchange controls the keys and could restrict access or withdrawals. A wallet cannot protect you from KOIN losing market value.

What could go wrong when you hold or use KOIN?

KOIN carries the usual risks of a volatile cryptoasset, as well as risks specific to using a relatively small blockchain ecosystem. Its market capitalization was about $3.5 million on 2026-03-27, and 24-hour volume was unavailable, so liquidity may be limited. Thin trading can mean wider spreads or difficulty selling a larger amount near a displayed price. The token’s price can also fall sharply, and past prices do not predict future performance.

Network use depends on Koinos operating reliably and on wallets, apps and exchanges continuing to support it. Mana is temporarily locked KOIN, so check how your available network capacity recovers before relying on it for time-sensitive use. Verify addresses and network settings to avoid irreversible transfer mistakes. Keep only what you can afford to lose, and do not treat a token’s intended features as evidence of adoption, security or future returns.

KOIN FAQs

What is KOIN used for?

KOIN is the native token of the Koinos blockchain, a smart-contract platform. The network uses KOIN to provide capacity through mana, with tokens temporarily locked and gradually released rather than permanently spent as transaction fees.

Which blockchain is KOIN on?

Koinos describes KOIN as the token for its own blockchain. Confirm that your wallet or exchange supports the Koinos network before sending, and do not assume that a token with the same ticker on another chain is equivalent.

What is the KOIN supply?

As of 2026-03-27, circulating supply was about 84.75 million KOIN and total supply was about 84.85 million. No maximum supply is published in the token data, so a fixed supply cap should not be assumed.

How do I store KOIN safely?

Use a wallet that explicitly supports Koinos and KOIN, and confirm the network and address before transferring. Protect your recovery phrase offline and never share it; if using an exchange, remember that the exchange controls the keys.

Does KOIN have transaction fees?

Koinos uses mana: holding KOIN gives you network-use capacity, and the tokens are temporarily locked and gradually unlocked. This is different from permanently paying a token amount for each transaction, but network capacity is still limited.

What is the market cap of Koinos?

As of Mar 27, 2026, Koinos had a market cap of about $3.55M, ranking #1,919 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of KOIN?

Koinos's all-time high is $2.28, reached on Nov 22, 2023. Its all-time low is $0.0007408 (Nov 28, 2022). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of KOIN?

As of Mar 27, 2026, about 84.75M KOIN were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
