## What does holding HUMA let you do?
HUMA is the token associated with Huma Finance, a PayFi network that uses stablecoins and on-chain liquidity to support payment financing and settlement. The project describes use cases including cross-border payments, card payments and trade finance. HUMA is described as a utility and governance token, with staking and ecosystem rewards among its intended uses.
Those roles do not mean that simply holding HUMA gives you a share of payment flows, a claim on loans, or a guaranteed return. Check the current rules for any staking or governance feature before you use it: participation terms, reward rates and eligibility can change. Huma Finance V2 is a lending project on Solana, but that alone does not establish that HUMA is required to lend or borrow through it. Treat the token’s stated uses separately from the services the broader network provides.
## Which HUMA network should your wallet use?
HUMA has been issued on Solana and BNB Chain; it is not listed as the native token of either network. That matters when you choose a wallet or send the token: the wallet and receiving service must support HUMA on the same chain you are using. A Solana token transfer and a BNB Chain token transfer are not interchangeable just because both assets are called HUMA.
Before sending, check the selected network, token name and receiving address in the destination wallet or exchange. Do not assume a deposit address supports both versions. A transfer between chains usually requires a supported bridge or other cross-chain route; using an unsupported route can leave funds inaccessible. Confirm through Huma Finance’s official channels which versions and transfer methods it currently supports. You will also need the relevant network’s native token to pay transaction fees, which are separate from HUMA.
## How much HUMA exists, and can supply grow?
HUMA has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens. The reported total supply is also 10 billion, while about 1.73 billion were circulating as of November 8, 2026. Circulating supply is the portion counted as available in the market; the rest may be subject to distribution or release schedules. A maximum supply does not tell you when tokens will enter circulation or how they are allocated.
The difference between circulating and total supply can matter when you assess dilution risk: a larger circulating amount in the future could affect market supply, but it does not determine what the token will be worth. Huma Finance has not published a release schedule in the facts stated here, so check its current token documentation for vesting and unlock details rather than relying on an old estimate. Supply figures can also change, so treat these numbers as dated rather than permanent.
## How can you store HUMA without sending it to the wrong place?
For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the specific HUMA version you hold: Solana or BNB Chain. Write down the recovery phrase offline and keep it private. Anyone who gets that phrase can generally control the wallet, and legitimate support staff should not need it. Consider a hardware wallet if you can manage its setup and backups safely.
When receiving HUMA, make a small test transfer first if the amount justifies the network fee. Confirm the chain and token details on both sides before sending. Keep enough of the network’s native token for transaction fees, and remember that a wallet displaying a token does not prove that a token contract or transfer route is genuine. If you use an exchange, check which chain it accepts for HUMA deposits and withdrawals; choosing the wrong network can lead to lost funds. Do not share private keys or approve wallet requests you do not understand.
## What could go wrong when you hold or use HUMA?
HUMA carries the risks of a volatile crypto asset. Its market price can fall sharply, and holding or staking it does not guarantee a return. The circulating supply is well below the stated maximum, so future token releases could add supply; the timing and effect depend on the project’s current distribution plans and market conditions.
There are also technical and operational risks. A wallet mistake, compromised recovery phrase, malicious token or unsupported cross-chain transfer can cost you your funds. Using a lending or staking product may add smart-contract, liquidity and counterparty risks, and yields—if offered—can change or stop. Huma Finance’s payment and lending activity does not remove those risks or make HUMA a deposit or loan claim. Before committing funds, verify the token and chain, read the applicable product terms, and only risk an amount you can afford to lose.
