Owning ETHW: Uses, Wallets and Risks
ETHW is the native token of the EthereumPoW proof-of-work chain, not ETH on Ethereum. Check the network and whether an exchange listing is withdrawable before moving funds.

What can you use ETHW for?
EthereumPoW is a proof-of-work blockchain that split from Ethereum after Ethereum moved to proof of stake. ETHW is the chain’s native token. You can use it to pay transaction fees on EthereumPoW and to transfer value on that network. Proof-of-work miners help secure the chain and receive ETHW rewards.
Before you buy or withdraw ETHW, check what an exchange is actually offering. Some markets may provide price exposure through an IOU or derivative rather than native ETHW that you can withdraw to an EthereumPoW wallet. Confirm that withdrawals are enabled and that the destination network is EthereumPoW. ETHW is not interchangeable with ETH on Ethereum just because both chains share a history or similar addresses.
Which chain is ETHW on, and how much exists?
EthereumPoW is its own chain, separate from Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network. ETHW is intended for use on EthereumPoW; it is not an Ethereum ERC-20 token by default. Wallets and exchanges need to support the EthereumPoW network for you to send or receive native ETHW. EVM-compatible wallet software may support the chain, but you must select the correct network and verify its details before signing a transaction.
As of 2026-11-08, the circulating and total supply were both reported at about 107.8 million ETHW. No maximum supply is published, so that figure is not a fixed cap. Supply can change as the network issues mining rewards or tokens are otherwise removed. Treat supply figures as snapshots, and check a current network explorer or exchange before making decisions based on them.
Which wallet should you use for ETHW?
You can consider an EVM-compatible wallet such as MetaMask if it supports EthereumPoW, or a hardware wallet that explicitly supports the network. Wallet support can change, so check the provider’s current network list before sending funds. When adding a network manually, use verified EthereumPoW settings from a trusted project channel; a wrong or malicious network configuration can expose you to fake assets or unsafe transactions.
A wallet address that looks like an Ethereum address does not prove that the wallet is connected to the right chain. Choose EthereumPoW in the wallet and make sure the receiving platform accepts native ETHW on that network. If you are moving a meaningful amount, first send a small test transaction and confirm it arrives. Never share your recovery phrase or private key with anyone claiming to help you add ETHW.
How can you store ETHW more safely?
For self-custody, keep your recovery phrase offline and private. Store it somewhere you can access if your phone or computer fails, but do not put it in email, cloud notes, screenshots or chat messages. A hardware wallet can reduce the risk of exposing keys to an internet-connected device, but it does not protect you from approving a malicious transaction or using a counterfeit wallet app.
Before sending ETHW, check the selected network, address and asset carefully. Make sure the receiving wallet supports EthereumPoW rather than only Ethereum. Sending to the wrong chain or using an exchange deposit address for an unsupported network can leave funds inaccessible. Keep a small amount of ETHW available for network fees if you plan to move tokens, and test unfamiliar routes with a small transfer first.
What could go wrong when you hold ETHW?
ETHW’s main risks include the possibility of thin trading, limited exchange support and confusion between native tokens, IOUs and derivatives. A quoted price does not guarantee that you can withdraw the asset on EthereumPoW. Check trading depth, withdrawal status, network name and any platform-specific restrictions before relying on a listing.
There are also technical and custody risks. EthereumPoW is separate from Ethereum, and the chains can have different security, applications and wallet support. A transaction is generally irreversible, while a compromised recovery phrase can let someone take your funds. ETHW has no published maximum supply, and its market value can move sharply. Do not treat past prices or a supply figure as a promise of future value; only commit funds you can afford to lose.
By the numbers
EthereumPoW in numbers
EthereumPoW (ETHW) is ranked #748 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $23.0M and a price of $0.2136 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($23.0M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 3.6% over 7 days, down 18.9% over 30 days, down 76.4% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $58.54, set on Sep 2, 2022.
About 107.82M ETHW are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $1.07M, or 4.6% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

ETHW FAQs
Is ETHW the same as Ethereum’s ETH?
ETHW is the native token of EthereumPoW, a proof-of-work chain that split from Ethereum after Ethereum changed to proof of stake. It is separate from ETH on Ethereum.
What is ETHW used for?
ETHW is used to pay transaction fees on EthereumPoW and is the chain’s native asset. Proof-of-work miners help secure the network and receive ETHW rewards.
Can MetaMask hold ETHW?
Wallet software that supports EthereumPoW may let you hold native ETHW. Confirm network support and choose EthereumPoW before receiving or sending funds; an Ethereum-looking address alone is not enough.
What is the supply of ETHW?
As of 2026-11-08, the circulating and total supply were reported at about 107.8 million ETHW. No maximum supply is published, so the total is not a stated hard cap.
Can you withdraw ETHW from an exchange?
Not necessarily. Some exchange listings can represent IOUs or derivatives rather than native tokens you can withdraw. Check that withdrawals are enabled and that EthereumPoW is the supported network.
What is the market cap of EthereumPoW?
As of Nov 8, 2026, EthereumPoW had a market cap of about $23.0M, ranking #748 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of ETHW?
EthereumPoW's all-time high is $58.54, reached on Sep 2, 2022. Its all-time low is $0.2030 (Nov 5, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of ETHW?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 107.82M ETHW were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
