Owning EDGE: Uses, Storage and Risks

EDGE is an Ethereum token linked to a peer-to-peer computing network, with a 1:1 bridge to the network’s internal XE coin. Know which asset and network you are using before you store or transfer it.

What does EDGE do for its holders?

EDGE is the Ethereum token connected to the Edge Network, a project for peer-to-peer computing and web services that use spare capacity from connected devices. The network is intended to move storage and computation closer to where they are needed, rather than relying only on central data centres.

EDGE can be bridged to and from XE, the coin used inside the Edge Network, on a 1:1 basis. XE is used to transfer value within the network and for device staking and community governance. The project describes EDGE as a way to connect consumers of network services with contributors who provide capacity. That does not make holding EDGE the same as earning network fees: the token’s stated uses do not promise a return or a share of revenue.

If you are considering EDGE, distinguish the Ethereum token from XE before sending funds. They are related, but used in different network contexts, and sending a token through the wrong route can put it at risk.

Which chain and wallet should you use for EDGE?

EDGE is issued on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token; the project does not identify it as the native token of a blockchain. It can also be bridged into and out of the Edge Network as XE. A bridge transfer is a separate step from an ordinary Ethereum wallet transfer, so check the network and asset shown at both ends before confirming.

For self-custody, use a wallet that supports Ethereum and custom ERC-20 tokens. Confirm that the wallet is displaying the correct EDGE token before receiving or sending it; a token name or ticker alone is not enough to verify an asset. Keep a small amount of ETH available if you need to pay Ethereum transaction fees, which vary with network conditions.

If you plan to use XE, verify the current bridge process and destination details through Edge’s official channels. Do not assume that a wallet’s ability to hold EDGE means it can also interact with the Edge Network or manage XE.

How much EDGE exists, and what can supply tell you?

EDGE has a maximum supply of 60 million tokens. As of 2026-11-08, reported circulating supply was about 40.9 million and total supply about 59.7 million. Circulating supply is the amount reported as circulating; it is not the same as the maximum supply, and the figures can change over time.

The difference between total and circulating supply means not all tokens were counted as circulating on that date. These figures alone do not establish when or how any remaining tokens may enter circulation. Check the project’s current token information before relying on a supply figure for a decision.

EDGE’s market activity was limited on that date: reported 24-hour trading volume was about $3,300. Thin trading can make it harder to buy or sell at a desired price, and the price you receive may differ from a displayed quote. Treat dated market figures as a snapshot, not a guarantee of what you can trade for now.

How can you store EDGE, and what can go wrong?

Store EDGE as you would other Ethereum tokens: use a wallet you control, protect its recovery phrase offline, and never share that phrase or sign a transaction you do not understand. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure to malware when set up and used correctly, but it cannot protect you from approving a malicious transaction or using the wrong address.

Bridging adds risks beyond ordinary token transfers. A bridge can be exposed to technical failures or attacks, and sending EDGE or XE on the wrong network may make recovery difficult or impossible. Check the asset, network, destination and bridge instructions carefully before moving a significant amount. Try a small transfer first if you are unfamiliar with the route.

EDGE also carries market and project risks. Its price can fall sharply, and limited trading volume may increase slippage or make an exit harder. The network’s usefulness depends on continued participation and demand for its services; token utility does not guarantee adoption or value. Never store funds you cannot afford to lose.

By the numbers

Edge in numbers

Edge (EDGE) is ranked #1,812 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $4.07M and a price of $0.0997 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $5.95M, so roughly 68% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 12.8% over 7 days, up 58.9% over 30 days, down 52.8% over the past year. It trades about 93% below its all-time high of $1.52, set on Mar 2, 2025.

About 40.85M EDGE are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 60M (68% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $3.28K, or 0.1% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

EDGE has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups EDGE under AI tokens, DePIN tokens.

EDGE FAQs

Is EDGE the same as XE?

EDGE is issued on Ethereum, while XE is the coin used inside the Edge Network. The project describes a 1:1 bridge between EDGE and XE, but they are used in different contexts.

Which wallet can hold EDGE?

EDGE is an Ethereum ERC-20 token. Use a wallet that supports Ethereum and custom ERC-20 tokens, and verify the token before sending or receiving it.

What is the maximum supply of EDGE?

EDGE’s maximum supply is 60 million. As of 2026-11-08, about 40.9 million were reported as circulating and about 59.7 million as total supply.

What is EDGE used for?

The stated uses include transferring value between consumers of network services and contributors, and bridging to XE. XE is used for value transfers, device staking and community governance; these uses do not guarantee income for EDGE holders.

Can I bridge EDGE to the Edge Network?

A bridge transfer can fail, be delayed or expose funds to technical and security risks. Confirm the asset, network and destination details before transferring, and do not assume an ordinary Ethereum wallet transfer sends EDGE to the Edge Network.

What is the market cap of Edge?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Edge had a market cap of about $4.07M, ranking #1,812 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of EDGE?

Edge's all-time high is $1.52, reached on Mar 2, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.007968 (May 1, 2020). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of EDGE?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 40.85M EDGE were in circulation, against a maximum supply of 60M.

Which blockchains is EDGE on?

It has token contracts on Ethereum.
