What does holding TIA let you do?

TIA is the token used on Celestia, a network that lets other blockchains publish transaction data so it can be downloaded and checked. It is designed for modular blockchain systems: a chain can use Celestia for data availability without relying on it for every part of its operation.

For you as a holder, TIA has two main network roles. Applications can use it to pay for space to publish data, and token holders can delegate it to validators to help secure the proof-of-stake network and receive staking rewards. Those uses depend on developers and users continuing to choose Celestia; holding TIA does not give you ownership of the projects that use it or guarantee rewards. Its value can also move with wider crypto-market conditions, the demand for Celestia data space, and expectations about competing networks.

Which chains and wallets can hold TIA?

TIA is native to Celestia. Token representations are also listed on Cosmos and Osmosis, but a token with the same ticker on another chain is not automatically interchangeable with TIA on Celestia. Before depositing or sending, check the network and token contract shown by the wallet or exchange at both ends.

You generally need a wallet that supports Celestia and its proof-of-stake features to hold or delegate native TIA. Cosmos ecosystem wallets such as Keplr or Leap may support Celestia, but support can vary by app version and function. Confirm the wallet’s current network support before transferring. Keeping TIA on an exchange means the exchange controls the keys; a self-custody wallet puts responsibility for the recovery phrase and transaction approvals on you. A wallet that can display TIA may not support staking or every bridge route.

How much TIA exists, and what can change supply?

As of November 8, 2026, about 990 million TIA were circulating, out of roughly 1.18 billion total. A maximum supply is not listed, so you should not treat the total supply figure as a hard cap. The difference between total and circulating supply can change as tokens enter circulation; the precise schedule and amount depend on the token’s issuance and distribution rules.

Staking rewards can add TIA to holders’ balances, while demand for TIA to pay for data publication may influence how useful the token is to network users. Those factors do not translate mechanically into a higher or lower price. Market sentiment, broader crypto prices, token unlocks and changes in network adoption can also affect trading. Check current supply and circulation figures before relying on a snapshot, since both can change.

How do people get and store TIA?

People generally obtain TIA through a crypto exchange or a supported swap service, then keep it in an exchange account or transfer it to a compatible self-custody wallet. Availability, identity checks and withdrawal options vary by provider and jurisdiction. This is a description of common access routes, not a recommendation to acquire the token.

If you move TIA to your own wallet, first confirm that the receiving address supports the same network you are sending on. For a first transfer, some users test with a small amount, while remembering that even a small transaction can incur fees. Back up the wallet’s recovery phrase offline and never share it or type it into an unsolicited message or website. If you delegate TIA, review the validator, any unbonding period and the wallet’s instructions; delegated tokens may not be immediately available to transfer.

What can a TIA transfer or bridge cost?

A TIA transfer can involve a Celestia network fee, generally paid in TIA. The amount can vary with network conditions and transaction type; Celestia does not publish a single fixed fee that applies to every transfer. Publishing data to Celestia also requires payment for data space, with costs depending on the transaction and network conditions.

Moving a token representation between networks may add bridge costs, including a fee charged by the bridge or the destination network. A centralized exchange can set its own withdrawal fee and supported networks, which may differ from the on-chain charge. Check the fee estimate, selected network and minimum withdrawal amount immediately before confirming. A low displayed fee does not remove the risk that a transfer to an incompatible address or through an unsupported route may be difficult or impossible to recover.

What are the main risks of holding TIA?

TIA carries the usual crypto risks, along with risks tied to whether developers keep choosing Celestia for data availability. A fall in network demand, stronger competitors, changes in staking or issuance, or a broad market downturn can affect the token’s price. There is no guaranteed return from holding or staking it.

Self-custody adds the risk of losing access through a misplaced recovery phrase, approving a malicious transaction or sending funds to the wrong network. Bridging introduces additional software and operational risks, and a bridge route may not support every TIA representation. Staking can make tokens temporarily unavailable while they are delegated or unbonding; validator performance and protocol rules also matter. Before using any feature, check its current terms and understand what happens if you need to move your tokens quickly. Do not treat past price levels or staking rewards as a promise about future results.

What is TIA’s history, and how volatile has it been?

Celestia’s mainnet launched in October 2023. Its purpose is to provide data availability for other chains, rather than to serve as a conventional all-purpose smart-contract network. TIA supports that system through data-space payments and proof-of-stake participation.

The token has had large price swings. Its recorded all-time high was about $20.85 on February 10, 2024, and its recorded low was about $0.28 on June 6, 2026. On November 8, 2026, TIA traded at about $0.44, with a market capitalization of roughly $432 million. These are dated snapshots, not valuation guides or forecasts. If you are assessing your own holdings, consider whether you can tolerate further volatility and whether you need access to tokens that may be staked or held on another chain.

By the numbers

Celestia in numbers

Celestia (TIA) is ranked #112 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $432M and a price of $0.4364 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $515M, so roughly 84% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 7.9% over 7 days, down 15.3% over 30 days, down 58.3% over the past year. It trades about 98% below its all-time high of $20.85, set on Feb 10, 2024.

About 989.86M TIA are in circulation, from a total supply of 1.18B. No hard maximum supply is listed.

24-hour trading volume was about $23.5M, or 5.4% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

TIA has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Osmosis, Cosmos. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

TIA FAQs

What is Celestia (TIA) used for?

TIA is used to pay for space to publish data on Celestia and can be delegated to validators in the network’s proof-of-stake system. The token’s uses do not guarantee demand or investment returns.

Which blockchain is TIA on?

TIA is native to Celestia, and token representations are also listed on Cosmos and Osmosis. Check the exact network and token representation before sending; matching tickers alone do not make tokens interchangeable.

Can I stake TIA from a wallet?

You need a wallet that supports Celestia to store native TIA, and wallet support for staking or other functions varies. Confirm the network and wallet features before depositing or delegating.

Does it cost money to transfer TIA?

Transfer charges depend on the network, transaction and current conditions. A bridge or exchange withdrawal can add separate fees, so check the quoted costs and destination network before confirming.

Does TIA have a maximum supply?

There is no maximum supply listed. As of November 8, 2026, about 990 million TIA were circulating out of roughly 1.18 billion total, and figures can change.

What is the market cap of Celestia?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Celestia had a market cap of about $432M, ranking #112 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of TIA?

Celestia's all-time high is $20.85, reached on Feb 10, 2024. Its all-time low is $0.2792 (Jun 6, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of TIA?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 989.86M TIA were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.

Which blockchains is TIA on?

It has token contracts on Osmosis, Cosmos.
