Fathom AMM Review: Is Its XDC Lending Worth Using?

Fathom AMM is presented as a non-custodial lending app on XDC, not a conventional swap-focused AMM. You can supply XDC or USDC and borrow against collateral, but rates move with demand and borrowing carries liquidation risk.

SkyBitcoins rating

Quick take

Fathom suits XDC and USDC users who want to lend or borrow on XDC Network. Its main draw is non-custodial lending with live market information and native XDC support. Rates are variable, and the protocol keeps 10% of borrower interest before suppliers receive their share. Before depositing, check current liquidity, rates and collateral limits in the app; a health factor below 1 can trigger liquidation.

What can you do with Fathom AMM?

Despite the AMM label, Fathom’s current app is presented as a lending protocol on XDC Network. You can supply XDC or USDC to earn variable interest, or use supplied assets as collateral to borrow. Fathom says both assets are prime markets and can be supplied, borrowed and used as collateral; check the live market list before acting, since active markets and their conditions can change. Native XDC is handled in the same transaction through wrapping and unwrapping, according to Fathom. The app also offers a Lending MCP that can read markets and positions, simulate actions and prepare transactions for you to sign. It does not hold keys. Fathom’s earlier ecosystem included FXD, a DEX and staking, and the app says older positions can still be managed there. If you came looking for token swaps, this lending-focused product may not be what you expect.

What will supplying or borrowing cost you?

Supply and borrowing rates are variable and respond to demand in each market. Fathom says suppliers receive borrower interest minus a 10% share retained by the protocol. The interest rate shown in the app is therefore not a fixed promise: it can change as borrowing levels change, and advertised APY compounds the current rate. Your actual return depends on the rate over time and the market’s use. Borrowing also creates interest costs, and using the full loan-to-value allowance can leave little room for a change in collateral value. You will need XDC Network transaction fees for on-chain actions; those costs depend on network conditions and are not quoted as a fixed Fathom fee. Fathom does not publish a complete fee schedule in its product information, so check the transaction preview and live market figures before you sign. Do not treat displayed APY as a guaranteed yield.

How much confidence should you place in Fathom’s security?

Fathom describes the lending app as non-custodial: you sign transactions with your wallet, while assets are held by protocol contracts rather than by Fathom as a custodian. That removes the need to hand over wallet keys, but it does not remove smart-contract, oracle, liquidity or market risk. Fathom says Halborn verified that deployed contracts match an audited lending codebase. It also explicitly characterizes the work as a verification review, not a full-scope audit. The published engagement lists no critical, high, medium or low findings, with six informational findings addressed—three solved and three acknowledged. This is useful evidence, but verification is not a guarantee that contracts are risk-free. Fathom does not publish licensing details in its product information. Before depositing, read the Halborn report and the protocol’s terms, and consider whether you are comfortable with the remaining risks and the possibility that a contract issue could affect funds.

What is it like to use Fathom on XDC?

To use Fathom, connect a wallet on XDC Network, choose a market and sign the supply or borrow transaction. Fathom says the app displays the cost and risk of an action before you approve it, and shows live rates, liquidity and positions. Native XDC can be supplied directly, with wrapping handled for you. Withdrawals are subject to available market liquidity, so supplying does not mean you can always withdraw immediately in full. Fathom does not specify supported wallet brands, a dedicated mobile app or processing-time guarantees in its product information. You should confirm that your wallet is on the correct network and that you have enough XDC for transaction fees before starting. For a first transaction, use a small amount, review the wallet’s transaction details, and make sure you understand how to repay a loan or withdraw supplied assets.

What could put your collateral or withdrawal at risk?

The central borrowing risk is liquidation. Fathom uses collateral values, market loan-to-value limits and a health factor to determine whether a position remains sufficiently backed. If your health factor drops below 1, some collateral can be liquidated. A falling collateral price, rising debt or changing market conditions can move a position closer to that threshold. Fathom says each market has a price feed and that it operates liquidators alongside open-market liquidators; oracle failures or contract issues remain risks common to on-chain lending. Suppliers also face liquidity risk: withdrawals depend on available liquidity, which can be constrained when much of a market is borrowed. XDC and USDC have different market risks, and using a stablecoin does not eliminate smart-contract or liquidity risk. Keep a buffer above the liquidation threshold, monitor your position, and do not supply funds you may need to withdraw immediately.

How should you start using Fathom safely?

Before you connect, check that lending—not token swapping—is the service you want. Then confirm the active XDC and USDC markets, including supply and borrow rates, available liquidity, loan-to-value limits and liquidation thresholds. Connect a wallet configured for XDC Network and review the network shown by the wallet before signing. Start with a modest supply, then check the transaction details and the position display. If you borrow, borrow below the maximum limit and keep monitoring your health factor; repay or add collateral if it approaches 1. For any transaction, compare the wallet’s fee and action details with what you intend to do. If you are managing an older FXD, DEX or staking position, Fathom says it remains manageable in the app, but confirm the specific action and risk before signing. Never share your seed phrase or private key with a site or tool.

Fathom AMM FAQs

What is Fathom AMM?

Fathom’s current app is a non-custodial lending protocol on XDC Network. You can supply XDC or USDC to earn variable interest, or borrow against supplied collateral.

Which assets can you supply or borrow on Fathom?

The current prime markets are XDC and USDC. Fathom says both can be supplied, borrowed and used as collateral; check the app’s live market list before connecting.

What does Fathom charge?

Rates change with market demand, and Fathom keeps a 10% share of the interest paid by borrowers. You also need to account for XDC Network transaction costs; exact live rates and gas costs vary.

Has Fathom been audited?

Fathom says its contracts were verified by Halborn against an audited lending codebase and deployed code. It describes this as a verification review, not a full-scope audit, so it is not a guarantee against smart-contract or market risks.

Can Fathom liquidate your collateral?

If your health factor falls below 1, part of your collateral can be liquidated. Keep track of your collateral value and debt, and leave a buffer rather than borrowing up to the market limit.
