Dinero pxETH Review: How to Redeem During the Wind-Down?

Dinero’s pxETH is in a withdraw-only wind-down: new minting is closed, and the project says pxETH can be redeemed 1:1 for stETH. Check redemption costs and the later stETH-to-ETH exit before proceeding.

By the SkyBitcoins review team · Updated

Quick take

Avoid treating pxETH as an active staking product: Dinero says it is in a withdraw-only wind-down after its acquisition by Plume. If you already hold it, the main reason to use Dinero’s redemption page is its stated 1:1 exchange for stETH. Before connecting a wallet, check the transaction costs and plan how you will turn stETH into ETH; that second step is separate.

Is it for you?

Who Dinero (pxETH) suits

Good for

  • People holding pxETH who want to follow Dinero’s stated redemption route
  • Holders of apxETH, bridged pxETH or branded ETH tokens checking for a redemption path

Not for

  • Anyone looking to mint a new liquid staking token; pxETH minting is closed
  • Anyone who needs an immediate ETH payout; redemption gives stETH, not ETH
  • Anyone unwilling to assess smart-contract, network and stETH conversion risks

Is pxETH still an active staking product?

Dinero describes pxETH as a high-yield staking product, but it is no longer open for new deposits or minting. The project says pxETH and other ecosystem tokens are in a sunset phase following its acquisition by Plume, and pxETH is now withdraw-only. That changes the decision: this is a redemption route for existing holders, not a product to choose for future staking.

The redemption page is intended to help holders locate pxETH, apxETH, bridged pxETH and certain branded ETH tokens, including index or rebasing tokens such as iETH or riETH. It says the scanner can identify eligible tokens after you connect a wallet, and also offers an address lookup without connecting. Dinero’s stated redemption is 1:1 from pxETH to stETH. Treat that as the project’s redemption terms, not a promise that stETH can always be sold for exactly one ETH.

What do you get, and what does the full exit involve?

Dinero says you can redeem pxETH 1:1 for stETH, Lido’s staked ETH token. You do not receive ETH directly through that stated redemption. Dinero says stETH stays in your wallet and continues to earn staking rewards; to get ETH, you can swap stETH on an exchange or use Lido’s withdrawal queue, which the project describes as usually taking a few days.

Those are distinct steps, with different risks and possible costs. A swap may involve a price difference, trading fees or slippage, while a withdrawal queue has its own processing time and conditions. Dinero does not publish a redemption fee or withdrawal limits for its tool. You should also allow for Ethereum network gas when making on-chain transactions. Check the current wallet prompts and the terms of whichever service you use for the separate stETH-to-ETH leg before committing.

How much confidence should you place in the redemption?

The main trust consideration is that redemption requires interacting with a crypto wallet and an on-chain process. A 1:1 redemption statement does not remove smart-contract risk, wallet-signing risk, or the risks involved in holding stETH afterward. Make sure you understand each transaction prompt and verify that the token and receiving details match the asset you intend to redeem.

Two audits are listed for Dinero, but audit names, reports, dates and scope are not established here, so the count alone is not enough to judge whether the redemption contracts were reviewed or whether findings were fixed. Dinero does not publish a licence or detailed custody explanation for this redemption flow. The project says it was acquired by Plume, but that fact by itself does not establish who controls each contract or how funds are protected. Use only the official Dinero redemption interface and verify the transaction details before signing.

What should you check in the wallet scanner?

Dinero offers a wallet-connected scanner that is meant to find eligible tokens and guide you through redemption. It also provides an address lookup option without connecting a wallet, which can help you check an address before taking action. The page covers pxETH and several related Dinero token types, including bridged pxETH and branded ETH tokens.

Wallet and chain details need care. Dinero warns that smart wallets such as Abstract Global Wallet or Safe may not use the same address on every chain. If you bridge assets, make sure the destination address is one you control on the receiving chain; sending to an address that does not exist or is not controlled there could make recovery difficult or impossible. The page refers to chains it could not check, so a scanner result may not settle every case. Confirm token balances and network selection in your own wallet before signing anything.

What costs and checks matter before you redeem?

Before redeeming, check the gas cost shown by your wallet and any fees on the later route from stETH to ETH. Dinero does not publish a redemption fee, so do not assume that the 1:1 token conversion means the entire exit is cost-free. If you plan to swap, check the quoted exchange rate and fees at the time you transact. If you plan to use Lido’s withdrawal queue, review its current process and timing; Dinero describes the wait as usually a few days, not a guaranteed completion time.

A careful sequence is to first verify the token and network, then read the transaction details, and redeem only what you intend to move. Keep a record of the transaction and do not share your seed phrase or sign an unexpected request. If the scanner does not recognize a token or the wallet presents details that differ from your expectation, pause rather than guessing.

Who should avoid using this redemption route?

This wind-down route is relevant if you already hold pxETH or one of the related Dinero tokens the redemption page supports. It is not suitable if you want to start staking ETH through Dinero: minting is closed, and the project describes pxETH as withdraw-only. It also may not fit if you need ETH immediately, because the stated redemption pays stETH and converting or withdrawing that token is a separate step.

You should pick another route if you are not comfortable managing wallet transactions, assessing the receiving address across chains, or carrying the risks of stETH after redemption. Holders with a smart wallet or bridged tokens should take extra care to verify the relevant chain and address. For an unclear token balance or an unexpected transaction prompt, seek support through Dinero’s official channels rather than signing blindly.

5 steps

How to start with Dinero (pxETH)

  1. 1

Open Dinero’s official pxETH redemption page and use the address lookup first if you want to check balances without connecting a wallet.

  2. 2

Confirm the token type and chain, including whether you hold pxETH, apxETH, bridged pxETH or a branded ETH token.

  3. 3

If you connect a wallet, verify the site, network and transaction details; check gas and never share your seed phrase.

  4. 4

Redeem only after confirming that the transaction is for the intended amount and that the stated output is stETH.

  5. 5

Plan the separate stETH-to-ETH step: compare a swap with Lido’s withdrawal queue and check current fees, rates and timing.

Dinero (pxETH) FAQs

Can you still mint pxETH?

No. Dinero says pxETH is in a withdraw-only wind-down and minting is closed. Its redemption page offers a route to redeem existing pxETH for stETH.

What do you receive when you redeem pxETH?

Dinero says pxETH can be redeemed 1:1 for stETH. That is not the same as receiving ETH directly: stETH remains a liquid staking token, and you need to swap it or use Lido’s withdrawal queue to turn it into ETH.

Does Dinero charge a fee to redeem pxETH?

Dinero says redemption is 1:1 for stETH, but it does not publish a redemption fee. You will also need to account for network gas, and a later stETH-to-ETH swap or withdrawal may have its own costs.

How long does it take to turn stETH into ETH?

Dinero says you can swap stETH on an exchange or use Lido’s withdrawal queue, which it describes as usually taking a few days. The timing and cost of a swap depend on the venue and market conditions.

Can you redeem bridged pxETH or other Dinero tokens?

Dinero says its scanner can find pxETH, apxETH, bridged pxETH and certain branded ETH tokens. It also warns that smart-wallet addresses may differ between chains, so confirm you control the receiving address before bridging.
