Quick take

Laine SOL suits SOL holders who want to stake with Laine, either through a native stake account or by receiving laineSOL for DeFi use. The site displays a zero stake-pool fee and says the liquid token has no ongoing management fee. Before depositing, check the current variable yield and consider that no audit is listed; liquid staking also adds pool and liquidity risks beyond native staking.

Is it for you?

Who Laine SOL suits

Good for

  • SOL holders who want to delegate stake to Laine while keeping control of a native stake account
  • Solana DeFi users who want a liquid staking token and understand pool risks
  • Stakers comparing a displayed zero pool fee with other Solana staking options

Not for

  • Anyone who needs a guaranteed yield or fixed return
  • Users unwilling to take on stake-pool or smart-contract risk
  • Stakers who require a published independent audit before using a pool

Should you choose native staking or laineSOL?

Laine SOL gives you two ways to stake SOL on Solana. Native staking delegates SOL from a stake account to Laine's validator. Laine says you retain control of that account and are the only one able to deactivate and withdraw the stake. This route is for you if you want staking rewards without receiving a tradable token.

For liquid staking, you deposit SOL into Laine's stake pool and receive laineSOL. The pool delegates SOL to Laine's validator, and rewards increase laineSOL's value relative to SOL over time, rather than increasing the number of tokens you hold. Laine says you can use laineSOL in DeFi or exchange it back to SOL. That flexibility is useful, but it does not guarantee that every platform will support the token or that a swap will always be available at a favorable price. The advertised yield is up to 9%; staking returns vary and are not guaranteed.

What will staking SOL through Laine cost you?

Laine's staking interface displays a stake-pool fee of 0.00, and the site says laineSOL has no ongoing management fee. It also says laineSOL's yield is roughly similar to native staking. That makes the stated pool charges easy to understand, but it is not a promise that using the service is entirely cost-free.

Solana transactions can involve network fees, and exchanging laineSOL through an aggregator, wallet swap, or DeFi service may involve separate charges or a price spread. Those costs depend on the transaction and the service you choose. Laine does not publish a fuller fee schedule in its staking information, so check the amount shown in your wallet before approving a deposit, withdrawal, or swap. Treat the up-to-9% yield as an advertised maximum, not a fixed rate or a net return you can count on. Rewards change with staking conditions, and the value of laineSOL against SOL can change too.

How much trust should you place in Laine's stake pool?

For native staking, Laine describes its setup as non-custodial: SOL sits in a stake account, and Laine says it cannot access or withdraw the funds. You still face the usual risks of staking, including validator performance and the time needed to deactivate a stake.

Liquid staking has a different risk profile. Laine says an on-chain stake-pool program manages deposits and delegates them to its validator. You rely on that pool program and on the operation of the token and its available markets. A problem with the pool, a loss of access to an exchange route, or weak liquidity could affect your ability to exit as expected. No audit is listed, so you cannot rely on a published independent audit as evidence of the pool's security. Laine was acquired by SOL Strategies in 2025, but that ownership detail does not remove technical or validator risk. Only stake funds you can leave exposed to these risks.

How do deposits and withdrawals work?

You can stake through Laine's interface, which offers both native and liquid options. For native staking, you delegate SOL to Laine's validator and manage the stake account through a compatible wallet interface or Laine's named stake-management service. For liquid staking, you deposit SOL to receive laineSOL. Laine says you can later unstake on its site or use third-party routes, including an aggregator or a wallet's swap function.

Native unstaking is not immediate: Laine says you must wait until the end of the current Solana epoch for the stake to deactivate, then return to withdraw the SOL and close the account or redelegate it. Liquid unstaking avoids that exact native-account process, but the exit route, timing, and exchange price may vary. The project describes a web interface, but does not publish detailed mobile support, processing-time guarantees, or withdrawal limits. Confirm the transaction details in your wallet before signing.

Where does Laine SOL fall short?

Laine SOL is a focused staking service, not a general-purpose crypto app. It supports SOL on Solana, with laineSOL as its liquid staking token. That narrow scope is helpful if you specifically want to stake SOL with Laine, but it will not suit you if you need multiple chains, a broad token selection, or a guaranteed exit price.

The main decision is whether the extra DeFi flexibility of laineSOL is worth taking on pool and liquidity risk. Native staking avoids receiving a liquid staking token, but requires waiting through deactivation before withdrawing. The project advertises yields of up to 9%, yet does not make that a fixed return. It also does not list an audit, and its fee display does not cover possible network or third-party costs. Compare the current staking terms and validator performance with alternatives, and keep enough SOL outside the stake to cover any transactions you may need.

4 steps

How to start with Laine SOL

  1. 1

Check that staking SOL through Laine is suitable for your risk tolerance, and review the current yield and validator information.

  2. 2

Choose native staking if you want to keep SOL in a stake account, or liquid staking if you want laineSOL and accept pool and liquidity risks.

  3. 3

Connect a Solana wallet and review the recipient, token, amount, and any network fee before approving the transaction.

  4. 4

Save your transaction details and understand the exit route: native staking requires deactivation and an epoch wait before withdrawal.

Laine SOL FAQs

What is the difference between native staking and laineSOL?

With native staking, your SOL stays in a stake account that Laine says only you can deactivate and withdraw. With liquid staking, you receive laineSOL, whose value in SOL can rise as the pool earns rewards. Liquid staking lets you use the token in DeFi, but adds pool and token-liquidity risks.

What fees does Laine SOL charge?

Laine's site displays a stake-pool fee of 0.00 and says laineSOL has no ongoing management fee. Solana transactions may still involve network fees, and the displayed fee does not establish what any third-party swap or DeFi service might charge.

Is Laine SOL's advertised yield guaranteed?

Laine advertises yields of up to 9%, but staking rewards vary and that figure is not a guaranteed return. The site says laineSOL's SOL value rises as the pool earns rewards; check the current rate and how it is calculated before staking.

Is Laine SOL safe to use?

Laine says native staking is non-custodial: it cannot access or withdraw funds from your stake account. Liquid staking uses an on-chain stake pool, which introduces smart-contract and pool risks. No audit is listed, so you should not treat the pool as independently audited.

How do you unstake or withdraw from Laine SOL?

For native staking, you must deactivate your stake and wait until the end of the current Solana epoch before withdrawing. For laineSOL, Laine says you can unstake through its site or exchange the token through supported third-party services; the timing and price can depend on the route and available liquidity.
