ALCUM Review: Which Copper Product, If Any, Fits You?
ALCUM offers three different ways to take copper exposure, but they carry very different ownership and credit risks. Read the product terms closely: returns, fees and exit rules depend on which one you choose.

Quick take
ALCUM may suit eligible investors who specifically want copper exposure, but the right product depends on whether you want physical metal, an unsecured loan to ALCUM, or a trading-linked certificate. Its main draw is access to an established copper business with product choices tied to different rights. Before committing funds, check the applicable fees, exit terms, settlement timing and legal protections in that product’s documents.

Which ALCUM product gives you the copper exposure you want?
ALCUM is a copper investment platform, not a single-purpose crypto token. It offers three products with different claims and risks. Cuprum lets you buy physical copper stored for you; you can hold it, sell it or arrange delivery. Cuprum+ lets you lend copper to ALCUM for use in its trading business. Your copper becomes ALCUM’s property while on loan, and you hold an unsecured repayment claim. Cuprum Token is a digital certificate issued by ALCUM AG, linked to net results from copper recycling and trading. It does not give you ownership of the copper.
The distinction matters: owning metal, lending to a company and holding a certificate tied to trading performance are not interchangeable forms of exposure. ALCUM describes its typical trade cycle as two to six weeks, but that is not a promise about your own repayment or exit date. Choose based on the legal right you want and the risk you can bear, not just the shared connection to copper.
What can ALCUM cost, and how are returns generated?
Returns and costs depend on the product. Cuprum’s value follows the copper market, so your result depends on the price when you sell and any applicable storage, transaction or delivery costs. Cuprum+ may credit additional copper to your balance at month-end when there is a positive result under the loan agreement; that income is not guaranteed. Cuprum Token’s returns depend on net results from copper trading after costs and fees.
ALCUM does not publish one headline fee schedule covering all three products on its product summary. It says the relevant product documentation sets out fees, protections and settlement terms. Before signing, check every charge that applies to buying, holding, lending, redeeming, selling or arranging delivery, and ask how fees affect reported returns. Also check whether any quoted result is gross or net of charges. A typical trade taking two to six weeks does not mean your money is available on that schedule.
What protections does ALCUM offer if a trade or repayment goes wrong?
ALCUM describes controls that include approved trading counterparties, transaction risk limits, controlled payments and records of copper and money movements. It says SGS inspects stored copper against paperwork, while Accountable checks that documents and on-chain records match. ALCUM also says Halborn has audited its smart contracts. These are useful checks, but an inspection or code audit cannot guarantee repayment, trading profits or protection from operational failure. Review the scope and date of each report and confirm which product it covers.
Cuprum+ deserves particular care: ALCUM says the loan is unsecured, so you do not have collateral backing your repayment claim. For Cuprum Token, ALCUM says enforcement rights are held outside the company for investors’ benefit, and describes collateral rights; read the legal documents to understand exactly what those rights cover and how they can be enforced. The homepage displays “SRO VQF,” but that label alone does not establish the regulatory status or protections for your specific product. Confirm the issuer, governing law and dispute process before committing.
Who can open an ALCUM account, and what is the digital setup?
ALCUM says access depends on identity checks, eligibility and location. Expect to complete the applicable KYC or KYB process and confirm that the product is available to you where you live. Cuprum Token is expressly limited to professional investors and has a stated minimum of 125,000 USDC, so it is not a general retail option.
The platform describes trade tracking and on-chain records, but does not spell out a standard wallet setup, supported wallet list, transaction speed or mobile-app experience in its product summary. Ethereum is listed as a chain, while no token ticker is listed. Do not assume that every product requires a crypto wallet or that a certificate can be freely transferred; confirm the account and transfer arrangements for the product you are considering. The access process, custody arrangements and available services may differ by product and location, so get those details in writing before sending money or copper.
Can you get your money or copper out when you need it?
Copper’s global resale market does not guarantee that you can exit your investment on demand. ALCUM explicitly says product terms determine exit and settlement, and that early exit may be limited. Cuprum depends on the arrangements for selling or delivering stored metal. Cuprum+ depends on repayment of an unsecured loan. Cuprum Token depends on the certificate’s redemption and settlement terms. In each case, timing and legal rights matter as much as the underlying market.
The two-to-six-week figure describes a typical trade cycle, not a guaranteed withdrawal window. Before investing, find the exact notice period, redemption process, settlement currency or metal, any lock-up or early-exit restrictions, and what happens if a counterparty defaults or a trade is delayed. Ask how stored copper is allocated to Cuprum holders and what evidence you can use to verify your position. If the documents do not clearly answer those questions, pause rather than treating copper’s market liquidity as a promise of personal liquidity.
Where can ALCUM fall short for a cautious investor?
ALCUM’s three products expose you to different risks: copper-price changes for Cuprum; borrower and repayment risk for Cuprum+; and trading, issuer and certificate terms for Cuprum Token. The company also identifies counterparty, operational, liquidity, settlement and product-specific legal risks. Its inspections, controls and hedging where designed for a product may reduce some risks, but ALCUM says they cannot remove them.
A key limitation is that the public product summary does not provide a complete, comparable breakdown of charges, redemption timing or protections for all products. That makes it difficult to compare expected net outcomes without reading the product-specific legal documents. Do not treat ALCUM’s operating history or a short trading cycle as a guarantee of future performance. Only consider an amount you can afford to have tied up or lose, and avoid choosing a product until you understand whether your claim is ownership of metal, an unsecured loan or a certificate issued by the company.

- 5

Alcum FAQs
Does ALCUM require KYC?
ALCUM says access depends on identity checks, eligibility and location. The checks may be KYC for individuals or KYB for businesses; confirm the requirements for your specific product before applying.
What do you own when you invest through ALCUM?
With Cuprum, you own physical copper stored for you. Cuprum+ is a loan to ALCUM, so you are an unsecured creditor while your copper is on loan. Cuprum Token is a certificate linked to trading results, not ownership of copper.
Are ALCUM returns guaranteed?
No. Cuprum+ earnings depend on positive monthly results as defined in the loan agreement, and Cuprum Token returns depend on net trading results. ALCUM says returns are not guaranteed.
Can you withdraw from ALCUM at any time?
Exit and settlement depend on the product’s terms. A liquid market for copper does not mean you can withdraw whenever you want; early exit may be limited and settlement may take time. Check the relevant redemption and settlement rules before committing funds.
What is the ALCUM Cuprum Token?
ALCUM describes Cuprum Token as a digital certificate issued by ALCUM AG, linked to copper recycling and trading results. It is for professional investors only, with a stated minimum of 125,000 USDC. You own the certificate, not the copper.
