What does SDL let you do?

SDL is the governance and fee-related token for stake.link, a liquid-staking service for LINK. The project describes three intended uses: SDL holders can vote on platform decisions, staking SDL is intended to return a share of platform fees, and SDL stakers may receive priority when depositing LINK. The fee share is described as scaling with the amount of LINK and rewards in the protocol, but no fixed return follows from that description.

Holding SDL does not itself mean you have staked LINK, and SDL is not LINK. Before staking SDL, check the current rules for eligibility, lockups, how fee distributions are calculated, and whether you can unstake at any time. Those terms can affect whether the token’s stated uses are practical for you. Governance rights also do not guarantee that a proposal will pass or that the platform will make a particular change.

Which network and wallet should you use for SDL?

SDL is issued on Ethereum, and the project’s stated chain information lists no native SDL token on another network. To hold it yourself, use a wallet that supports Ethereum assets. Before sending SDL, verify that the receiving wallet is set to Ethereum and that you have the correct token contract; a token with the same symbol on another network may not be SDL.

An exchange may custody SDL for you, while a self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys. With self-custody, back up your recovery phrase offline and never share it with anyone claiming to provide support. Check network and withdrawal details before moving tokens from an exchange, because sending on the wrong network can make recovery difficult or impossible. Do not rely on a wallet display name alone to identify the token.

How much SDL exists, and can supply grow?

SDL has a maximum supply of 100 million tokens. As of 2026-11-08, about 37.8 million were circulating, while total supply was 100 million. The difference between circulating and total supply matters: tokens not counted as circulating may enter circulation later, which can change the balance between available tokens and demand.

These figures describe token supply, not how many SDL you personally can access or whether tokens are locked. The project’s facts do not give a release schedule, so do not assume that the remaining supply will enter circulation on a particular timetable. If supply changes matter to your decision, check current token information and any published vesting or distribution terms before relying on an older figure.

What can go wrong when you hold or stake SDL?

SDL carries both market risk and protocol risk. Its value can move sharply, and a stated fee-sharing use does not guarantee a return: fee amounts depend on platform activity, while the applicable distribution rules may change. Governance participation also gives you a say, not control over the outcome. The token’s circulating supply is below its maximum, so future changes in circulating supply are another factor to consider.

If you stake SDL or use stake.link to stake LINK, you also take on risks beyond simply holding a token. Smart-contract flaws, operational problems, or changes to the service could affect access to funds or their value. Liquid staking can involve separate withdrawal conditions or delays, and the value of a liquid-staking token may not always match the underlying asset. Check stake.link’s current fees, withdrawal terms, and security disclosures before depositing. Use only funds you can afford to lose, and keep a record of which assets and networks you use.

By the numbers

stake.link in numbers

stake.link (SDL) is ranked #1,274 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $9.32M and a price of $0.2464 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $24.6M, so roughly 38% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 7.5% over 7 days, down 18.2% over 30 days, down 51.8% over the past year. It trades about 84% below its all-time high of $1.56, set on Sep 3, 2025.

About 37.81M SDL are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100M (38% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $1.48K, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

SDL has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

SDL is linked to stake.link liquid, which we cover in our Staking rankings. See our stake.link liquid page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

SDL FAQs

What is SDL used for?

SDL is the token used for governance and fee-related functions on stake.link. The project also describes priority access to LINK deposits for SDL stakers.

What network is SDL on?

SDL is issued on Ethereum. Use an Ethereum-compatible wallet and verify the token and network before sending it.

What is the total supply of SDL?

The maximum supply is 100 million SDL. About 37.8 million were circulating as of 2026-11-08; the project facts do not give a release schedule for the remainder.

Does staking SDL pay rewards?

The project describes staking SDL as a way to receive a share of platform fees, but that does not establish a fixed or guaranteed return. Check current staking and distribution terms before committing tokens.

Is SDL the same as LINK?

SDL and LINK are different tokens. Holding SDL does not itself stake LINK; stake.link’s liquid-staking service is for LINK, and you should check its current fees, withdrawal terms, and security disclosures before using it.

What is the market cap of stake.link?

As of Nov 8, 2026, stake.link had a market cap of about $9.32M, ranking #1,274 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of SDL?

stake.link's all-time high is $1.56, reached on Sep 3, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.0720 (May 21, 2023). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of SDL?
