Owning SCRT: Uses, Storage and Risks

SCRT is the native coin of Secret Network, a blockchain designed for computation on encrypted data. Secret contracts can use private or sensitive information as inputs, so the network’s focus is computational privacy rather than only hiding transactions. Developers can use it to build privacy-preserving apps, including AI-related workflows through Secret AI SDK and confidential applications through Secret VM.

For you as a holder, SCRT has practical network roles: it is used to pay transaction and computation fees, and it can be staked to help secure the network. SCRT is also used for governance. These uses depend on activity and participation in the network; they do not guarantee demand, rewards or a particular token value. If you are considering SCRT mainly as an investment, separate the project’s privacy features from the financial risks of holding a volatile crypto asset.

SCRT is native to Secret Network and is also issued on Osmosis. Check the network shown in your wallet and exchange before sending or receiving it: assets with the same ticker on different networks are not automatically interchangeable. A transfer to an unsupported network or address may be difficult or impossible to recover.

Choose a wallet that explicitly supports Secret Network for native SCRT. Keplr is commonly used in the Cosmos ecosystem, but confirm current Secret Network support and the exact asset/network before relying on it. If you hold SCRT on Osmosis, make sure your wallet supports that network and the relevant token representation. When moving funds between networks, use a route designed for the asset and verify each step; bridging and cross-network transfers add separate technical and smart-contract risks. Try a small transfer first if you are unfamiliar with the route.

As of 2026-11-08, reported circulating supply was about 691.4 million SCRT and total supply was about 1.46 billion. No maximum supply is listed in the current supply figures, so you should not assume there is a fixed cap. Circulating supply and total supply are different measures; the gap between them is not, by itself, a schedule for when more tokens may enter circulation.

SCRT was trading at about $0.0036 on that date, with a reported market capitalization of about $2.5 million. These are snapshots, not stable values, and a small market capitalization or trading volume can make prices especially sensitive to limited buying or selling. Check current figures before making a decision, and do not treat historical prices or supply totals as a forecast.

For long-term storage, use a wallet that supports the correct SCRT network and keep your recovery phrase offline. Never share the phrase or enter it into a site, message, or app claiming to validate, unlock or recover your tokens. Anyone with the phrase may be able to control the wallet.

Before sending, verify the destination address, network and token in your wallet. If you use SCRT on Osmosis as well as Secret Network, keep track of which network holds each balance; sending to the wrong network can leave funds inaccessible. Consider a small test transaction before moving a larger amount. Keep wallet software and devices up to date, and be wary of fake support accounts, airdrops and wallet-connection prompts. Staking adds its own considerations, so check the current terms and withdrawal process in the wallet or service you choose before committing tokens.

SCRT’s price can fall sharply, and its value may be affected by limited liquidity, changing interest in Secret Network, competition from other privacy and smart-contract platforms, and technical or governance problems. A token’s privacy purpose does not remove the ordinary risks of crypto custody or market volatility. As of 2026-11-08, SCRT was near its reported all-time low, a reminder that past prices do not establish a floor or predict a recovery.

Secret Network’s design also relies on its software, network participants and the security of the systems that handle encrypted computation. Bugs, outages, compromised devices or mistakes when using a wallet can put access or funds at risk. Privacy features are not a guarantee that every app, transaction or user action is anonymous. Review what a specific app reveals and what permissions it requests, and only hold an amount you can afford to lose.
