## What can you use HTR for?

HTR is Hathor’s native token. You can use it to pay network fees, and it is also described as serving staking and governance roles. Holding HTR alone does not necessarily mean you are staking or participating in governance: check the current network and wallet instructions before relying on either function.

Hathor is designed to combine a blockchain with a directed acyclic graph (DAG). Transactions sit in the DAG and are confirmed by blocks, rather than being arranged in a Merkle Tree inside blocks. Hathor says this design is intended to support scalability and decentralization, but those aims are not guarantees of performance or security.

The network also supports user-created tokens. Hathor says those tokens use the network’s scalability and security parameters. That does not make them interchangeable with HTR: check which asset a payment or application requires, and account for the possibility that a created token has little liquidity or use.

## Which network and wallet should you use for HTR?

HTR belongs to the Hathor network. The token information here does not identify HTR as issued on Ethereum or another external chain, so treat a token with the same ticker elsewhere as a separate asset unless you can verify a supported bridge or representation. Sending HTR to an address for the wrong network can result in a loss that may not be reversible.

Before transferring, check that your wallet explicitly supports Hathor and that the deposit or withdrawal network selected by an exchange is Hathor. Confirm the address format and, where available, test with a small transfer before moving a larger balance. Do not rely on a ticker symbol alone to identify the correct asset.

Use a wallet that lets you control the recovery phrase if you want self-custody. Keep an exchange account’s HTR there only if you accept the exchange’s custody and withdrawal risks. Wallet and exchange support can change, so verify support in the product you plan to use before buying or transferring.

## How much HTR exists, and is there a maximum supply?

As of 2026-11-08, Hathor’s reported circulating supply is about 517.4 million HTR, while total supply is about 869.5 million. A maximum supply is not specified in the token information here, so you should not assume that the circulating figure is the full amount that could eventually exist.

The gap between total and circulating supply matters if you are assessing dilution: tokens outside circulation may enter the market, depending on the project’s release and distribution arrangements. Check Hathor’s current token documentation for how that supply is allocated and whether its plans have changed. A circulating-supply number by itself does not tell you when or whether additional tokens will become available.

These figures are snapshots, not fixed wallet balances or a forecast of value. Token supply, market price and trading liquidity are different measures. If you are considering HTR, look at the latest figures and the practical availability of deposits and withdrawals on the venue you use.

## How can you store HTR without losing access?

For self-custody, use a wallet that specifically supports the Hathor network. Write down its recovery phrase offline and keep it private; anyone who obtains it may be able to control the funds. Do not store the phrase in a message, cloud note or photo, and never enter it into a site or app because someone contacted you and asked for it.

Protect the device with a strong passcode, keep its software current, and verify the receiving address on the device or wallet screen before confirming a transfer. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure to malware only if it supports the exact asset and network you are using. Check that compatibility before sending funds to it.

If you leave HTR with an exchange, the exchange controls the keys and may pause withdrawals or become insolvent. Self-custody avoids that particular dependency but shifts recovery and transaction mistakes onto you. A wallet cannot reverse a transfer sent to the wrong address or network.

## What could go wrong when you hold HTR?

HTR’s main risks include sharp price changes, uncertain liquidity and technical risk. As of 2026-11-08, its reported market capitalization was about $2.2 million and 24-hour trading volume about $62,800; figures this small can move quickly, and a quoted price may not be available for a large order. You could have difficulty selling at the price you expect.

Hathor uses SHA-256 and a design that combines blocks with a DAG. Novel architecture can create implementation and adoption risks; a project’s stated scalability or decentralization goals do not prove that the network will remain secure, reliable or widely used. HTR can also lose value even if the network continues operating.

Before using the token, check the live network status, wallet support and withdrawal availability. Be cautious of unsolicited offers to stake or manage HTR, and do not share your recovery phrase. Never commit money you cannot afford to lose.

By the numbers

Hathor in numbers

Hathor (HTR) is ranked #2,303 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.18M and a price of $0.004206 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $3.66M, so roughly 60% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was up 10.9% over 7 days, down 35.4% over 30 days, down 81.0% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $2.45, set on Nov 21, 2021.

About 517.45M HTR are in circulation, from a total supply of 869.46M. No hard maximum supply is listed.

24-hour trading volume was about $62.8K, or 2.9% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

CoinGecko groups HTR under Layer 1 tokens, Infrastructure tokens.

HTR FAQs

What is HTR used for?

HTR is Hathor’s native token and is used for network fees. It is also described as having staking and governance roles, but holding HTR does not automatically mean you are staking or voting.

Which network does HTR use?

HTR is associated with the Hathor network. Check that your wallet or exchange supports Hathor specifically, and verify the selected network and address before sending; do not assume a token with the same ticker on another chain is HTR.

What is the supply of HTR?

The reported circulating supply was about 517.4 million HTR and total supply about 869.5 million as of 2026-11-08. A maximum supply is not specified, so check current project documentation for supply and distribution updates.

How do you store Hathor safely?

You can keep HTR in a wallet that explicitly supports the Hathor network or leave it with a service that supports HTR withdrawals. With self-custody, protect your recovery phrase offline; with an exchange, consider that the service controls the keys and may restrict withdrawals.

What are the main risks of holding HTR?

Yes. HTR’s value and liquidity can change quickly, and a transfer to the wrong address or network may be irreversible. Hathor’s technical design also carries the general risks of software, security and adoption.

What is the market cap of Hathor?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Hathor had a market cap of about $2.18M, ranking #2,303 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of HTR?

Hathor's all-time high is $2.45, reached on Nov 21, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.001603 (Aug 9, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of HTR?

As of Nov 8, 2026, about 517.45M HTR were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
