What does Helium IOT actually do?
Helium IOT (IOT) is a token connected to the Helium Network’s LoRaWAN wireless network for Internet of Things devices. Its stated role is governance for the LoRaWAN IOT subnetwork, and IOT is mined by IOT Hotspots. The Helium Network uses HNT as its primary token; IOT is not the same asset as HNT or MOBILE, which is associated with Helium’s 5G network.
Holding IOT does not by itself provide wireless coverage or guarantee income. The token’s connection to network participation depends on the Helium ecosystem and its rules, which can change. If you are considering IOT, check that you understand whether you want a governance-related token or are looking to operate a Hotspot. Those are different activities, with different costs and risks.
IOT is a DePIN token: it is associated with a project that uses incentives to encourage people to contribute physical wireless infrastructure. Its value may still move independently of how useful the network is.
Which wallet and network should you use for IOT?
IOT is issued on Solana, so you need a wallet that supports Solana tokens. It is not listed as the native token of a separate blockchain. Before sending or receiving it, confirm that your wallet and exchange support IOT on Solana specifically; a token with the same name on another network may not be the same asset.
Use the official token identifier from a trusted Helium or wallet source to check the asset. Do not rely on a name or ticker alone, and do not send IOT to an address on a network your receiving wallet does not support. A mistaken network or address can make funds difficult or impossible to recover.
If you buy through an exchange, check its withdrawal network, minimum withdrawal and fees before transferring. Those terms vary by provider and can change. For a self-custody wallet, keep a small test transfer as an option when moving a larger balance, and verify the receiving address on your device before approving.
How much IOT is in circulation, and does it matter?
The reported circulating supply is about 20.25 billion IOT, against a total supply of 200 billion, as of November 3, 2026. A maximum supply is not stated. These figures help you see that circulating tokens are only part of the reported total, but they do not tell you when or how the remaining supply may enter circulation. Check current token information before making a decision.
On that date, IOT was priced at about $0.000106, with a market capitalization of roughly $2.2 million and a fully diluted valuation of about $21.2 million. The reported seven-day change was up around 63%, while the one-year change was down around 68%. These are dated snapshots, not forecasts; prices and supply figures can change, and a sharp move does not establish a lasting trend.
Reported 24-hour trading volume was unavailable for that snapshot. Low or unclear trading activity can make it harder to trade at a price close to the one shown, especially for larger orders.
How can you store IOT without losing control of it?
For self-custody, use a wallet that supports Solana tokens and protect its recovery phrase offline. Never share the phrase or enter it into a website or message because someone claims they need it to verify, unlock or migrate your IOT. A hardware wallet can keep signing keys separate from an internet-connected device, but it cannot protect you if you approve a malicious transaction or lose your recovery phrase.
Before sending IOT, check the token and network on both the sending and receiving sides. Confirm the destination address, and be cautious about unsolicited tokens, links and messages promoting a claim or airdrop. If you use an exchange, secure the account with a unique password and available multi-factor authentication, and check the exchange’s custody and withdrawal rules.
A wallet stores the credentials that let you control tokens; it does not insure their value or guarantee recovery. Test unfamiliar wallet features with care, and keep a record of where your IOT is held without exposing your keys.
What are the main risks of holding IOT?
IOT carries both token-market and network risks. Its price can fall sharply, and liquidity may be limited; a displayed price does not ensure you can sell a desired amount at that price. The large gap between reported circulating and total supply also makes future token availability worth monitoring, while no maximum supply is stated.
The project’s usefulness depends in part on the Helium Network, its LoRaWAN coverage, and continued participation by Hotspot operators. Network adoption, governance decisions, technical problems, or changes to token incentives could affect demand. IOT’s role is different from HNT’s, so do not assume that holding IOT gives you the same functions or exposure as holding HNT or MOBILE.
There are also ordinary crypto risks: custody mistakes, fake token listings, compromised devices and irreversible transfers. Only use money you can afford to lose, verify current token and network details before acting, and do not treat past price movements as a guide to future performance.
By the numbers
Helium IOT in numbers
Helium IOT (IOT) is ranked #2,312 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.15M and a price of $0.0001062 as of Nov 3, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $21.2M, so roughly 10% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 63.2% over 7 days, up 21.5% over 30 days, down 68.2% over the past year. It trades about 97% below its all-time high of $0.003813, set on Apr 25, 2023.
About 20.25B IOT are in circulation, from a total supply of 200B. No hard maximum supply is listed.
IOT has token contracts on Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

IOT FAQs
What blockchain is Helium IOT on?
IOT is issued on Solana and is associated with Helium’s LoRaWAN IOT subnetwork. It is not the network’s native token.
What is Helium IOT used for?
IOT’s stated role is governance for the LoRaWAN IOT subnetwork, and it is mined by IOT Hotspots. HNT is Helium’s primary token, while MOBILE is associated with its 5G network.
How many Helium IOT tokens are there?
The reported circulating supply was about 20.25 billion IOT and total supply about 200 billion as of November 3, 2026. A maximum supply is not stated, and supply figures can change.
Which wallet can hold IOT?
Use a wallet that supports Solana tokens and verify the token identifier and network before receiving or sending IOT. Keep your recovery phrase private and offline; transactions sent to an unsupported network or wrong address may not be recoverable.
Is Helium IOT easy to sell?
No. The reported 24-hour trading volume was unavailable as of November 3, 2026, and liquidity can vary. Check current market activity and any exchange withdrawal terms before you trade.
What is the market cap of Helium IOT?
As of Nov 3, 2026, Helium IOT had a market cap of about $2.15M, ranking #2,312 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of IOT?
Helium IOT's all-time high is $0.003813, reached on Apr 25, 2023. Its all-time low is $0.00003904 (Jun 19, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
