## What can you use PORTO for?
PORTO is FC Porto’s fan token. It is intended to give holders ways to engage with the club, including taking part in club-related polls. Fan tokens may also provide access to digital collectibles or other fan benefits, but offers can change and may depend on the platform or promotion. Check the current terms before treating any perk as something you will receive.
PORTO is not the same as owning a share in FC Porto. Holding it does not, by itself, give you a claim on the club’s profits, assets or sporting decisions. Polls offer a way to express a preference, but they should not be assumed to bind the club or determine important club matters. The token’s practical value to you depends on whether you want to use its fan features, as well as what you are willing to pay and the risks you can accept.
## Which chain and wallet should you use?
PORTO is issued on BNB Chain, also known as BNB Smart Chain or BSC. It is not a chain of its own. To hold it in a self-custody wallet, use a wallet that supports BNB Chain tokens and select the correct network when receiving or sending. A wallet that supports other networks may not support BNB Chain automatically.
You can also hold PORTO in an exchange account if a platform lists it, but the exchange controls the keys and may limit deposits or withdrawals. Before transferring, check that the receiving service supports PORTO on BNB Chain specifically. Sending tokens to an incompatible network or address can result in permanent loss. BNB is generally used to pay transaction fees on BNB Chain, so you may need a small amount for transfers. Confirm the current fee and network details in your wallet before you approve a transaction.
## How many PORTO tokens are there?
PORTO has a maximum supply of 40 million tokens. As of November 8, 2026, about 11.3 million were circulating, with 40 million reported as the total supply. That means the maximum supply is not all in circulation, and additional tokens may enter circulation over time.
A fixed maximum does not mean the circulating supply will stay fixed. Token releases can increase the number available to trade, which may affect demand and the market price. Check the project’s current token information before making a decision, especially if you are relying on a particular supply figure. Market capitalization and trading activity also change over time; they are not guarantees that you can sell a particular amount at a quoted price. Do not treat a lower price or a past high as evidence that PORTO is undervalued or likely to recover.
## How can you store PORTO safely?
For self-custody, use a BNB Chain-compatible wallet and keep your recovery phrase offline, private and backed up securely. Anyone with that phrase can control the wallet. Do not share it with a person claiming to offer support, and do not enter it into a website or app to claim a reward. Consider a hardware wallet if you hold an amount that would be costly to lose.
Before sending PORTO, verify the network and the recipient address, and consider a small test transfer if you are unfamiliar with the destination. Check that the token shown in your wallet is the genuine PORTO token; token names and symbols can be copied. Use an official project or exchange channel to verify the contract address rather than relying on a search result or message from a stranger. If you keep PORTO on an exchange, protect the account with a unique password and available security controls, while remembering that exchange custody carries its own risks.
## What are the main risks of holding PORTO?
PORTO can lose value sharply, and its price may be affected by crypto-market conditions, trading liquidity, changes in fan interest and the token’s available supply. Fan benefits can also change, become unavailable or matter less to you than expected. You may not be able to sell quickly at the price you see, particularly when trading activity is low.
There are also practical risks: a mistaken transfer, a compromised wallet, a fake token or a phishing message can lead to a loss that may be irreversible. Exchange-held tokens depend on the platform continuing to operate and process withdrawals. Do not assume that club affiliation makes a token low-risk, guarantees benefits or protects its market price. Only commit money you can afford to lose, and decide in advance whether you want PORTO for its fan features or are simply exposed to its price movements.
