What is ELA used for?
ELA is Elastos’s cryptocurrency. It is intended for digital transactions and smart-contract activity within an ecosystem designed around a decentralized internet, including peer-to-peer communication, decentralized data storage and digital identity. The project describes its platform as combining blockchain technology with these other services; that does not mean every Elastos app or service necessarily requires you to hold ELA.
Elastos describes its security model as combining Bitcoin’s hash power with Delegated Proof of Stake. Its design also includes sidechains, including Ethereum-based activity. For you as a holder, the practical point is to check what a particular app or service actually accepts ELA for before transferring coins. Don’t assume a token’s presence in a wallet means it can be used across all parts of the ecosystem.
Which networks can you hold ELA on?
ELA is described as Elastos’s native cryptocurrency, and ELA tokens have also been issued on Ethereum and Heco. These are different network versions: an ELA balance on one chain is not automatically available on another. A transfer sent using the wrong network may be difficult or impossible to recover.
Before depositing or withdrawing ELA, check the exact network supported by both the sending wallet and the receiving service. Match the network shown on both sides, and confirm the asset’s contract or token details where relevant. If you are moving a substantial amount, a small test transfer can help check that the address and network are correct. Don’t assume a wallet supports every version of ELA just because it displays an ELA balance or token name.
How much ELA exists?
Elastos has a maximum ELA supply of about 28.22 million. As of 2026-11-08, the reported circulating supply was about 23.09 million, out of a total supply of about 26.23 million. These figures describe different measures: circulating supply is the amount counted as circulating, while total supply includes tokens outside that measure. The maximum is the stated cap, not the amount currently in circulation.
Supply figures can change, so treat these as a dated snapshot rather than a current wallet balance or a guarantee of how much is available to trade. A capped supply also does not make ELA’s market value stable. If supply matters to your decision, check the latest token information and distinguish circulating, total and maximum supply rather than comparing only one number.
How can you store ELA safely?
Choose a wallet that explicitly supports the ELA version and network you intend to use. If you hold ELA on Ethereum or Heco, check support for that specific network; support for another version does not guarantee that deposits, withdrawals or transfers will work. Exchanges may also suspend deposits or withdrawals, so check their current network options before moving coins.
Keep your recovery phrase offline and private. Anyone who gets it can usually control the wallet, and a lost phrase may leave you unable to recover your funds. Use a device you keep updated, enable available account protections, and verify addresses and network details before confirming a transfer. For an unfamiliar wallet or destination, try a small test amount first. Never share a recovery phrase with someone claiming they need it to validate, unlock or return your ELA.
What risks should ELA holders consider?
ELA carries the usual risks of a volatile crypto asset: its market price can move sharply, and you could lose some or all of the amount you hold. A stated maximum supply does not protect the price from changes in demand, liquidity or wider crypto-market conditions.
There are also network and operational risks. Elastos relies on a multi-part design involving blockchain infrastructure, sidechains and other decentralized services; problems with an app, network, wallet or cross-chain process can affect how you use or move tokens. Ethereum and Heco versions add the need to select the correct chain and token. Mistaken transfers, compromised recovery phrases and fraudulent support messages can cause permanent losses. Before using ELA in an application, check what the transaction will do and whether you can afford the risk; don’t treat the project’s technical design as a guarantee of security or adoption.

Elastos (ELA) is ranked #1,254 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $9.65M and a price of $0.4158 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $11.0M, so roughly 88% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 30.2% over 7 days, up 15.8% over 30 days, down 68.9% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $89.14, set on Feb 23, 2018.
About 23.09M ELA are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 28.22M (82% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $377K, or 3.9% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
ELA has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, HECO. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

ELA FAQs
What is Elastos (ELA) used for?
ELA is Elastos’s cryptocurrency, intended for digital transactions and smart-contract activity. Whether a particular app uses or accepts it depends on that app.
Is ELA an Ethereum token?
ELA has been issued on Ethereum and Heco, as well as being described as Elastos’s native cryptocurrency. Check the exact network supported by your wallet or exchange before transferring.
What is ELA’s maximum supply?
Elastos has a stated maximum supply of about 28.22 million ELA. As of 2026-11-08, about 23.09 million were reported in circulation; supply figures can change.
How do I store ELA safely?
Use a wallet that supports the specific ELA network you hold, and keep its recovery phrase private and offline. Confirm the network and destination address before sending; a wrong-chain transfer may not be recoverable.
What is the market cap of Elastos?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Elastos had a market cap of about $9.65M, ranking #1,254 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
