Owning PROMPT: Uses, Storage and Risks

Wayfinder describes PROMPT as a token intended to secure access to blockchain navigation through “wayfinding paths” and smart maps. That points to a role within the Wayfinder project, rather than making PROMPT a general-purpose payment token. The project has also referred to staking paths that may offer PROMPT emissions, but availability and terms can change; check the current path details before committing tokens.

The public description does not establish that PROMPT gives you a share of project revenue, voting rights, or a guaranteed return. Don’t assume those benefits come with holding it. If you are considering PROMPT for a particular feature, first confirm that the feature is live, what the token is required for, and whether you can withdraw or unstake under the terms offered. A token’s stated role does not ensure that an app or service will remain available.

PROMPT is issued on Ethereum and Base. Neither chain is listed as its native chain, so check which network a wallet, exchange, or app is using before you receive or send tokens. Ethereum and Base are separate networks: sending PROMPT using the wrong network can leave it inaccessible through the destination service, even if the transfer itself succeeds.

Use a wallet that supports the network you need, and make sure it can display or manage the relevant PROMPT token. Before transferring, verify the token contract address through Wayfinder’s official channels and compare it with the address shown by your wallet or exchange. Don’t rely on a ticker or token name alone; other assets can use the same symbol. If you withdraw from an exchange, confirm that it supports withdrawals on your chosen network and check its displayed network and fee. The gap between circulating and total supply matters: tokens that are not yet circulating may enter the market later, depending on the project’s release plans. More available supply can affect token holders, but supply figures alone do not show when releases will happen or how much demand there will be.

Wayfinder’s published token schedule and any current release or staking terms are worth checking before you make a decision. Don’t treat a maximum supply as proof that all tokens are already in circulation, or assume that staking emissions are guaranteed.
