What does SWELL give you as a holder?

SWELL is Swell’s ecosystem token; it is separate from the ETH you deposit into Swell’s liquid-staking service. Swell describes its staking protocol as non-custodial, but that does not make SWELL a claim on staked ETH or guarantee a share of staking rewards. SWELL is categorized as a governance token, and Swell has described a fee-auction mechanism that uses SWELL to bid for protocol fees, with tokens bought through the mechanism burned. Check Swell’s current documentation before relying on that mechanism or assuming it creates value for holders. If your goal is to stake ETH, compare the protocol’s fees, redemption terms and smart-contract risks separately from the risks of holding SWELL. Owning the token alone does not mean you have deposited ETH or earned staking yield.

Which network and wallet should you use for SWELL?

SWELL is issued on Ethereum, so use a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens and make sure you select the Ethereum network when receiving or sending it. Check the token contract address against Swell’s official channels before adding a token or making a transfer; a familiar name or symbol is not proof that a token is genuine. Swellchain, Swell’s Ethereum Layer 2, was shut down in 2026, so do not assume it is an active destination for SWELL. If a service asks you to bridge tokens or connect to a different network, verify that the route is currently supported and understand any bridge and transaction costs first. Sending tokens to an unsupported network or address can make them difficult or impossible to recover.

How much SWELL is in circulation?

As of 2026-11-08, SWELL’s reported circulating supply was about 5.22 billion, total supply about 8.81 billion and maximum supply 10 billion. The difference between circulating and total supply matters: tokens not currently circulating may enter circulation later, depending on the project’s release arrangements. The token’s price was about $0.000645 on that date, with a market capitalization of about $3.4 million and fully diluted valuation of about $5.7 million. These figures can change quickly and are not a forecast. Before you hold or transfer SWELL, check the current supply and market depth: a small market can make it harder to trade at the price you expect, especially during volatile periods. Do not treat past prices or supply figures as a guarantee of future value.

How can you store SWELL without losing access?

For self-custody, keep SWELL in a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens. A hardware wallet can keep signing keys offline, while a software wallet may be more convenient for frequent use; either way, you remain responsible for safeguarding the recovery phrase. Store that phrase offline, never share it with someone claiming to provide support, and do not enter it into a website or form to claim rewards. Before sending a small or large amount, verify the recipient address, Ethereum network and token contract. If you connect your wallet to a Swell app or another service, review the requested permissions and sign only transactions you understand. A wallet does not reverse a mistaken transfer, and no custodian can restore access if you lose your keys.

What could go wrong when you hold or use SWELL?

SWELL can lose value, and its market price may move independently of ETH staking returns. Other risks include changes to the token’s utility or fee-auction design, future token releases, low liquidity, and bugs or exploits in contracts or connected services. If you deposit ETH into Swell, you also take on separate protocol, redemption and liquid-staking risks; review the current fees, withdrawal conditions and published audit reports before depositing. A non-custodial design does not remove smart-contract risk or guarantee you can redeem immediately. Swell does not make the token risk-free, and governance rights, where available, do not guarantee that a proposal will pass or benefit every holder. Consider whether you can afford a full loss, and avoid confusing SWELL ownership with a guaranteed yield or claim on ETH.

Is SWELL a safe investment?

No token is risk-free. SWELL can lose value, and holders face market, liquidity, token-design and smart-contract risks. Depositing ETH through Swell also brings separate staking and redemption risks.
