What can you do with SHIB?

SHIB is an Ethereum-based meme token, not a coin with its own standalone blockchain. You can hold it as a community-associated crypto asset, transfer it, or use it in parts of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The project also has ShibaSwap, a decentralized exchange where users can trade tokens and provide liquidity. These activities involve smart contracts and can expose you to additional risks beyond simply holding SHIB.

Shiba Inu’s wider ecosystem includes LEASH and BONE, which have separate roles. BONE is described as the governance token and the gas token for Shibarium; SHIB is the main token used for trading and payments. Holding SHIB alone does not automatically give you governance rights or make you eligible for rewards. Check the current terms of any app before connecting a wallet or approving a transaction, and remember that token prices and reward conditions can change.

Which networks and wallets support SHIB?

SHIB is issued on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token. You can store it in a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens, including compatible software wallets and hardware wallets. Check the token contract and network carefully when receiving SHIB; a token with the same ticker on another network may not be the same asset or may require extra steps to use.

Shiba Inu also has Shibarium, a layer 2 network intended to process transactions faster and at lower cost than Ethereum. BONE is Shibarium’s gas token, so using that network can require BONE as well as SHIB. Moving tokens between Ethereum and Shibarium involves a bridge, which adds steps and introduces smart-contract and transfer risks. Confirm that the wallet, exchange, and app you are using support the exact network you select. A deposit sent on an unsupported network may be difficult or impossible to recover.

How much SHIB exists, and what can change its value?

SHIB has no stated maximum supply. As of 2026-11-08, about 589.24 trillion SHIB were circulating and total supply was about 589.50 trillion. These figures can change, including through token burns or other supply adjustments; do not assume that a burn mechanism will reduce supply by a particular amount or at a particular pace.

The token’s market value also moves with demand, broader crypto-market conditions and sentiment around meme coins and the Shiba Inu ecosystem. On 2026-11-08, SHIB’s market capitalization was about $2.65 billion. That is a snapshot, not a measure of what you could sell your holdings for: the price may move, and an order’s execution price can differ from a displayed quote. There is no reliable way to infer future value from the token’s large unit count or past price movements.

How do people obtain and store SHIB?

People generally get SHIB through a crypto exchange that lists it or by swapping another token for it on a decentralized exchange such as ShibaSwap. Availability, payment methods and identity checks vary by provider and location. Before using a service, check its fees, withdrawal rules and the network it supports; a displayed SHIB balance on a trading platform may not mean you control the on-chain tokens directly.

For self-custody, use an Ethereum-compatible wallet and keep your recovery phrase offline and private. Anyone who obtains that phrase can take control of the wallet. Check the recipient address and network before sending a small or large transfer, and be wary of unsolicited messages, fake token listings and requests to approve unfamiliar smart contracts. A wallet approval can give an app permission to move tokens, so review what you are authorizing rather than treating every prompt as a routine login.

What does it cost to move SHIB?

An Ethereum SHIB transfer requires an Ethereum network fee, commonly called gas. The fee is paid in ETH, not SHIB, and can vary with network demand and transaction complexity. Swapping SHIB or interacting with a smart contract can cost more than a simple transfer. Check the wallet’s fee estimate before confirming; the quoted cost may change before a transaction is included.

Shibarium transactions use BONE for gas, according to the project’s token model. Moving assets between Ethereum and Shibarium can also involve a bridge, extra transactions and possible fees on one or both networks. Bridges add risk because they depend on software and contracts that can fail or be exploited. Make sure you understand which network holds your SHIB after a transfer, and do not assume a low-cost route is risk-free. Exchange withdrawal fees may be separate from on-chain fees and are set by the provider.

What risks should SHIB holders keep in mind?

SHIB’s main risks include sharp price swings, meme-coin sentiment, smart-contract vulnerabilities and mistakes when choosing a network or approving a transaction. Use of ShibaSwap or a bridge adds risks that are not present when you simply keep tokens in a wallet. A decentralized app does not guarantee that you can withdraw at a particular price or without delay. Check the app’s current security information and understand what permissions you are granting before using it.

SHIB’s history also shows how far its market value can move in either direction. Its recorded all-time high was $0.00008616 on 2021-10-27, and its all-time low was $0.000000000056366 on 2020-11-28. These are historical prices, not targets or a guide to future performance. As of 2026-11-08, its price was about $0.00000449, down about 56% over the preceding year. You should be prepared to lose the full amount you choose to hold.

By the numbers

Shiba Inu in numbers

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is ranked #38 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.65B and a price of $0.000004490 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($2.65B) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 4.1% over 7 days, down 16.2% over 30 days, down 55.8% over the past year. It trades about 95% below its all-time high of $0.00008616, set on Oct 27, 2021.

About 589.24T SHIB are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.

24-hour trading volume was about $33.4M, or 1.3% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

SHIB has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

SHIB FAQs

Is SHIB an Ethereum token?

SHIB is an ERC-20 token issued on Ethereum, rather than the native coin of a separate blockchain. Shibarium is a separate layer 2 network in the wider Shiba Inu ecosystem.

What wallet can hold SHIB?

You need a wallet that supports Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens. Check that you are selecting the Ethereum network and the correct SHIB token before receiving or sending funds.

Do you pay fees to transfer SHIB?

Ethereum transfers require gas paid in ETH, and the amount can vary with network demand and the type of transaction. Shibarium uses BONE for gas, while exchanges may charge separate withdrawal fees.

Is there a maximum supply of SHIB?

SHIB has no stated maximum supply. As of 2026-11-08, about 589.24 trillion SHIB were circulating, and supply figures can change over time.

What is ShibaSwap used for?

ShibaSwap is a decentralized exchange in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, where users can trade tokens and provide liquidity. Using it requires interacting with smart contracts, which carries risks such as contract vulnerabilities and transaction costs.

What is the market cap of Shiba Inu?

As of Nov 8, 2026, Shiba Inu had a market cap of about $2.65B, ranking #38 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.

What is the all-time high of SHIB?

Shiba Inu's all-time high is $0.00008616, reached on Oct 27, 2021. Its all-time low is $0.00000000005637 (Nov 28, 2020). Past prices say nothing about future returns.

What is the circulating supply of SHIB?
