What do you own when you hold MUC?
MUC is a tokenized security that gives you economic exposure to Micron Technology, Inc. shares. It is not a Micron-issued cryptocurrency, and holding it is not the same as having shares registered directly in your name. Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd issues the token, which represents a beneficial interest in a pool of underlying shares and related property held on trust. Those shares are held in a segregated custody account with a regulated broker-dealer and custodian.
The token initially represents a 1:1 interest in shares, but that ratio can change to reflect distributions, fees, taxes, corporate actions and other adjustments. Dividends and other distributions are generally reinvested after applicable costs, with their economic benefit reflected in the ratio. Before holding MUC, read the issuer’s legal documents to understand your rights, any eligibility requirements and how the token’s terms apply to you.
Which wallets and network can you use for MUC?
MUC is issued on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 network. It is not listed as a native token of a blockchain. To hold it yourself, you need a wallet that supports Base and the token’s contract. A Base-compatible self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys, but you are responsible for protecting them and sending the token only to a compatible address. Base transactions generally require ETH for network fees.
Before receiving MUC, confirm the correct token contract and network through Coinbase’s official channels. Token symbols can be copied, and sending MUC to an incompatible chain or address may make it unrecoverable. A custodial platform may offer a different way to hold or trade it, but availability can vary by location and provider. Check that the platform supports deposits and withdrawals of this specific Base token; a displayed trading price alone does not mean you can withdraw it.
How much MUC exists, and what can move its value?
The reported circulating and total supply were both about 1,258.39 MUC as of 2026-11-08. No maximum supply is published. The supply can change: authorized participants create tokens by delivering underlying shares or subscription value, and the share-to-token ratio may also be adjusted under the product’s terms.
MUC’s value is tied to the economics of Micron shares, but its market price can differ from the value of the underlying interest. Trading hours, liquidity, demand for the token, market conditions and costs reflected in the share-to-token ratio can all matter. The token can also be used in decentralized finance markets, but that may add separate smart-contract and liquidity risks. Don’t assume that a MUC quote will track Micron’s share price exactly, or that you can sell instantly at the displayed price. Check the token’s current market, trading activity and terms before relying on a quote.
How can you store MUC safely, and what can go wrong?
If you self-custody MUC, protect your recovery phrase offline, keep it private and confirm the Base network and recipient address before every transfer. Never share your phrase or approve a wallet request you do not understand. For a significant holding, consider a hardware wallet that supports Base, and test unfamiliar transfer steps with a small amount first. If you use a custodian, check its withdrawal rules and account-security options.
MUC has risks beyond ordinary crypto price swings. You rely on the issuer, the custody arrangement, the legal ownership register and the tokenization infrastructure. Smart-contract errors, a Base network outage, loss of wallet keys or a compromised wallet could disrupt access or transfers. Market liquidity may be limited, and the token may trade away from the underlying share value. You also hold a tokenized security, not direct Micron shares, so your rights and access may differ. Review the current offering terms and check whether you are permitted to hold it where you live.
