What do you use KDA for?

KDA is Kadena’s native token, used to pay for computation and transaction fees on the Kadena public blockchain. Miners also receive KDA for producing blocks. If you use an application on Kadena, you may need KDA to cover the network fee for its transactions; the amount can depend on the transaction and network conditions.

Kadena describes its public network as Chainweb, a braided Proof-of-Work blockchain designed to provide security and throughput. KDA is not automatically interchangeable with tokens that use other networks. Before sending it, check which network the sending platform and receiving wallet support, and confirm that both support Kadena Chainweb. A token called KDA on another chain may be a wrapped or bridged version, not the native asset.

How much KDA exists, and how easy is it to trade?

Kadena’s published token information gives a maximum supply of 1 billion KDA. As of November 8, 2026, about 338.6 million KDA was listed as both circulating and total supply. Those figures can change, so check current supply information before using it to assess the token.

KDA’s market value and trading activity can also change sharply. On November 8, 2026, its reported market capitalization was about $2.6 million and 24-hour trading volume was about $1,839. That low volume can make it harder to trade a larger amount at a price close to the displayed quote. Use a limit order where available, check the spread and available order-book depth, and compare the withdrawal network and fees before choosing an exchange. These figures are not a guide to future value.

Which network and wallet should you use for KDA?

KDA is native to Kadena’s Chainweb network. To hold or transfer native KDA, choose a wallet that explicitly supports Kadena Chainweb and follow its instructions for receiving addresses and account details. Check that the exchange or person sending funds uses the same network. Do not assume an Ethereum, Bitcoin or other-chain wallet can receive native KDA just because it displays a similar-looking address or token name.

For a first transfer, send a small test amount if practical, then confirm it arrived before moving the rest. Keep your recovery phrase offline and private; anyone who gets it may be able to control your funds. Never enter it into a website or send it to someone claiming they need it to fix a transaction. If you use an exchange, check that KDA withdrawals are enabled on the correct network before depositing.

What risks should you check before holding KDA?

A key issue for KDA holders is Kadena LLC’s announcement that it ended business operations on October 21, 2025. That does not by itself prove that the independent blockchain stopped working, but it does create uncertainty about ongoing development, support and the long-term maintenance of the ecosystem. Before relying on an application or moving funds, check that the network is producing recent blocks and that your wallet and exchange still support deposits and withdrawals.

KDA also carries familiar crypto risks: its price can fall sharply, trading can be thin, and a transfer to the wrong address or network may be difficult or impossible to reverse. Keep only funds you can afford to lose, secure your recovery phrase, and be wary of unsolicited support messages or promises of guaranteed returns. Don’t base a decision only on older claims about network capacity or adoption.

By the numbers

Kadena in numbers

Kadena (KDA) is ranked #2,149 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.57M and a price of $0.007579 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($2.57M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 19.4% over 7 days, down 18.6% over 30 days, down 75.3% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $27.64, set on Nov 11, 2021.

About 338.59M KDA are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (34% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $1.84K, or 0.1% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
