Owning GenesisL1 (L1): Uses, Storage and Risks
GenesisL1’s L1 token is tied to a proof-of-stake blockchain for decentralized science. Before using it, check which chain your tokens are on and what that version lets you do.

What does GenesisL1 (L1) let you do?
GenesisL1 is a proof-of-stake blockchain project focused on decentralized science, bioinformatics, verifiable data, machine learning and programmable digital assets. The project describes L1 as its network token for transaction gas, staking, governance, community-pool funding and optional application settlement.
The network combines Cosmos SDK and CometBFT technology with an Ethereum Virtual Machine, so developers can build with Solidity as well as Cosmos-based tools. Its stated uses include publishing datasets, molecular structures and models, and recording details such as model versions and execution results on-chain.
There is an important distinction when you hold L1: the token is listed as issued on Base and Osmosis, while the project describes L1 as native to the GenesisL1 network. A token held on Base or Osmosis may not automatically provide staking or governance rights on GenesisL1. Check which chain and token contract your asset uses before sending it or relying on a utility.
Which wallet and network should you use for L1?
L1 is associated with Base and Osmosis. Use a wallet that supports the specific network and token you hold; an Ethereum-compatible wallet may support the Base version, while Osmosis assets generally require a Cosmos-compatible wallet. Confirm the network and token identity in your wallet before receiving or sending funds. A matching ticker alone is not enough to establish that two tokens are interchangeable.
If you want to use L1 on the GenesisL1 chain for gas, staking or governance, first confirm that your token is on that chain and that the relevant feature is available to your wallet. The network’s EVM compatibility does not mean every wallet automatically supports it. Do not send tokens directly between Base, Osmosis and GenesisL1 unless the wallet or an established transfer route explicitly supports that move. A transfer on the wrong network can be difficult or impossible to reverse, and a bridge, if used, adds separate smart-contract and custody risks.
How much L1 is in circulation, and how liquid is it?
As of November 8, 2026, GenesisL1 had about 42.48 million L1 circulating and about 48.09 million total. A maximum supply is not published, so you cannot use a stated cap to calculate the eventual fully diluted supply. The difference between total and circulating supply is also worth considering when assessing how much supply may not yet be circulating; the figures alone do not show when or whether that supply could enter the market.
On the same date, L1 traded at about $0.20, with an approximate market capitalization of $8.6 million and 24-hour trading volume of about $12,000. These figures can change quickly, and low trading volume can make it harder to buy or sell at a price close to a displayed quote. Treat market data as a snapshot, not a promise of liquidity or future value. Check the token and network carefully on the venue you use before placing a transaction.
How can you store L1 safely, and what can go wrong?
For safer storage, keep your recovery phrase offline and private, use a wallet you can identify and maintain, and confirm the network and recipient address before approving a transaction. Never share your recovery phrase or sign a transaction you do not understand. If you use a hardware wallet, check that it supports the network and token format you intend to hold.
L1 carries several risks beyond ordinary wallet mistakes. Its price can move sharply, and the reported trading volume was modest as of November 8, 2026. Tokens on Base or Osmosis may not have the same utility as L1 on GenesisL1; unsupported transfers can result in loss. Smart contracts, bridges and blockchain validators can also fail or be exploited. GenesisL1 has not published audit information in the project details here, so do not assume its code or applications have been independently audited. Staking can involve lock-up, validator and slashing risks; check the terms and network rules before delegating.
By the numbers
GenesisL1 in numbers
GenesisL1 (L1) is ranked #1,331 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $8.58M and a price of $0.2019 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $9.71M, so roughly 88% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 19.2% over 7 days, down 10.6% over 30 days. It trades about 44% below its all-time high of $0.3613, set on Oct 1, 2026.
About 42.48M L1 are in circulation, from a total supply of 48.09M. No hard maximum supply is listed.
24-hour trading volume was about $12.3K, or 0.1% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
L1 has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Base, Osmosis. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
CoinGecko groups L1 under Layer 1 tokens, Infrastructure tokens.

L1 FAQs
What is GenesisL1 (L1) used for?
The project describes L1 as the GenesisL1 network’s token for gas, staking, governance and community-pool funding. L1 is also listed as issued on Base and Osmosis, and a token on those chains may not automatically carry the same network functions.
Which networks support L1?
L1 is listed on Base and Osmosis. Use a wallet that supports the chain and the specific token you hold, and verify the token identity before sending or receiving it.
What is the supply of L1?
About 42.48 million L1 were circulating and about 48.09 million were total as of November 8, 2026. A maximum supply has not been published.
Can you stake GenesisL1?
The project describes L1 as a proof-of-stake network asset, but staking access depends on the chain where your tokens are held and the available wallet support. Check the network, delegation terms and any lock-up or slashing conditions before staking.
Can you send L1 between Base, Osmosis and GenesisL1?
No. A token on Base or Osmosis should not be assumed to be interchangeable with L1 on GenesisL1. Use only a transfer method that explicitly supports the networks and token involved.
What is the market cap of GenesisL1?
As of Nov 8, 2026, GenesisL1 had a market cap of about $8.58M, ranking #1,331 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of L1?
GenesisL1's all-time high is $0.3613, reached on Oct 1, 2026. Its all-time low is $0.0797 (Aug 18, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of L1?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 42.48M L1 were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
Which blockchains is L1 on?
It has token contracts on Base, Osmosis.
