Owning NOW: Uses, Storage and Risks

NOW is ChangeNOW’s ecosystem token, not a coin that runs its own blockchain. ChangeNOW describes uses including staking through ChangeNOW Pro, swap cashback, asset-listing fees, and payments for services such as NOWPayments and NOW Nodes. It also lists AML checks and partner perks as possible uses. Those benefits depend on the relevant ChangeNOW product and its current terms; holding NOW alone does not guarantee cashback, access, or income.

ChangeNOW advertises staking rewards of up to 6.25% APY through ChangeNOW Pro, with rewards distributed weekly. Treat that figure as a product offer, not a guaranteed return: rates and eligibility can change, and staking brings platform and token risks. The token has also been described as being distributed through airdrops and community campaigns. If you are considering NOW, first check which uses are currently available to you and what conditions apply.

NOW has versions issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain; it is not native to either network. That means you need to select the same network as the token version when receiving or sending it. A transfer to an address on the wrong network, or to a service that does not support that version, may be difficult or impossible to recover.

EVM-compatible wallets such as MetaMask can generally work with Ethereum and BNB Chain assets, but you may need to configure the network and add the correct token contract. Confirm the contract address and supported network through ChangeNOW’s official channels before transferring. Do not rely on the ticker “NOW” alone: token names and symbols can be copied by unrelated assets. Check that any exchange or wallet you use supports the specific NOW version you hold. ChangeNOW’s mention of NOW Wallet does not by itself establish that every NOW version can be stored or transferred there.

NOW has a maximum supply of 200 million tokens. About 83.5 million were circulating and 97.5 million were in total supply as of 2026-11-08; the difference represents tokens counted in total supply but not circulating. These figures can change, so check current supply before making decisions. ChangeNOW has described periodic token burns, but a burn schedule or claim about reduced supply does not guarantee that NOW will become scarcer in a way that supports its price.

As of 2026-11-08, NOW traded at about $0.37, with a market capitalization of about $31.1 million and a 24-hour trading volume of about $150. These are snapshots, not dependable measures of what you could sell a holding for: thin trading can make it harder to trade at a displayed price. NOW is exposed to both crypto-market volatility and demand for ChangeNOW’s products. Consider whether you could tolerate a large loss before holding it.

For self-custody, use a wallet that supports the exact NOW network and keep your recovery phrase offline. Never share the phrase or private keys, including with someone claiming to provide ChangeNOW support. Before sending a large amount, verify the recipient address, network, and token contract, then consider a small test transfer. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure of keys to an internet-connected device, but it does not prevent wrong-network transfers, phishing, or mistakes when approving transactions.

NOW’s value also depends on the token contracts, ChangeNOW’s continued operation, and demand for its services. Staking through ChangeNOW Pro adds platform-specific risks: rewards are not the same as bank interest, and the token’s market price can fall by more than any reward earned. Review the current withdrawal, lock-up, and reward terms before staking; do not assume funds can be accessed immediately. Keep only the amount you are prepared to risk, and avoid unfamiliar sites or unsolicited messages asking you to connect a wallet.
