What does BOSON do in Boson Protocol?

BOSON is the utility and governance token for Boson Protocol, which provides escrow infrastructure for commerce between people and AI agents. The protocol is designed to coordinate offers, payment, settlement and dispute resolution for physical or digital items. BOSON is not itself the item you buy or a guarantee that a seller will deliver it.

The project describes BOSON as a way to support governance, incentivize participants and share in value created by the protocol. Boson also describes a 0.5% protocol fee, but check the terms for the specific transaction to understand when it applies and how it is paid. Network gas can be an additional cost. The protocol’s fair-exchange design is intended to let a buyer receive an item or recover funds, but you should read the current contract and dispute rules before relying on that outcome.

Which networks and wallets can hold BOSON?

BOSON has been issued on Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Base and Arbitrum. It is not listed as the native token of any of these networks, so check which network your BOSON is on before you deposit, send or trade it. A wallet must support both the relevant network and the token standard used by the token there.

When receiving BOSON, confirm the network and token contract using a trusted project source and match them with the details shown by your wallet or exchange. A deposit sent over an unsupported network may not arrive, and recovery may be difficult or impossible. Do not assume that tokens on different networks are interchangeable automatically. Moving assets between networks can involve a bridge or other service, which adds contract and transfer risk; verify the method Boson Protocol currently recommends before using one. Keep a small test transfer in mind when checking a new address or network.

How much BOSON exists, and what can change its value?

As of 2026-11-08, BOSON had about 169.6 million tokens circulating, with 200 million total and a 200 million maximum supply. That means the circulating figure was below the stated cap; the remaining amount may affect future availability if it enters circulation. Check current token disclosures if you need to understand release timing or allocation details.

BOSON was priced at about $0.0146 on that date, with a market capitalization of about $2.5 million. These are snapshots, not stable values: trading activity and market prices can change quickly, and a small market capitalization can make it harder to trade a large amount without affecting the price. Supply figures alone do not tell you whether the token will gain or lose value. Treat any valuation as time-sensitive, and do not use an old price or market-cap figure when deciding what a holding is worth today.

How can you store BOSON more safely?

If you hold BOSON for the longer term, store it in a wallet that supports its network and keep your recovery phrase offline. Never share that phrase or enter it into a site or message sent to you unexpectedly. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure to online account compromises, but it cannot protect you from approving a malicious transaction or choosing the wrong network.

Before interacting with a Boson Protocol app, check the requested permissions and read the transaction details in your wallet. Be cautious about signing messages or approvals you do not understand, especially if an agent or commerce interface asks you to authorize spending. Keep enough of the relevant network’s native asset for transaction gas. If you use a custodial exchange, review its withdrawal network options and account-security settings; an exchange balance also means you depend on that provider to safeguard and release your tokens.

What could go wrong when you hold or use BOSON?

BOSON carries market risk: its price can fall sharply, and limited trading activity can make selling harder or more expensive. It also carries smart-contract and network risk. A bug, compromised wallet, bridge failure or mistaken transfer can lead to losses that may be irreversible.

Using Boson Protocol to buy or sell goods adds separate risks. A tokenized voucher or on-chain record does not by itself establish the condition, ownership or delivery of a real-world item. Check who is responsible for fulfillment, what counts as a valid dispute, how refunds work and whether the contract supports your intended transaction. Review the current contract address and audit status before connecting a wallet or approving funds. Do not assume that protocol safeguards remove counterparty, legal or delivery risk, and do not commit funds you cannot afford to lose.

By the numbers

Boson in numbers

Boson (BOSON) is ranked #2,186 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $2.48M and a price of $0.0146 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $2.92M, so roughly 85% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 15.1% over 7 days, down 26.2% over 30 days, down 77.2% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $5.36, set on Apr 9, 2021.

About 169.6M BOSON are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 200M (85% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $47.7K, or 1.9% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

BOSON has token contracts on 5 chains we track, including Ethereum, Polygon, Optimism, Base. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
