## What does holding BTCD give you?
Bitcoin Dollar (BTCD) is designed to give you exposure to both Bitcoin and the US dollar in one token. The protocol describes BTCD as having a 50/50 allocation to BTC and USD, with its underlying strategies intended to manage that exposure without requiring you to rebalance it yourself. That design is not the same as holding Bitcoin, a dollar-backed stablecoin, or a guaranteed fixed-value asset: BTCD’s market price can move, and its portfolio strategy can carry risks of its own.
BTCD is distinct from sBTCD, the protocol’s staked, yield-bearing counterpart. Holding BTCD alone should not be assumed to earn the returns associated with sBTCD. The protocol says returns for sBTCD come from underlying strategies, including productive allocation across BTC- and USD-denominated positions; volatility strategies may add returns in some market conditions. These returns are not guaranteed. The protocol’s governance token, FISC, has not launched. If you are considering BTCD, check which token you are acquiring and what the current conversion, staking and withdrawal terms are before committing funds.
## Which chain and wallet should you use for BTCD?
Bitcoin Dollar is deployed on Ethereum mainnet. It is not described as a native token of another chain, so be cautious when you see similarly named BTCD assets or listings that claim to be on Solana or a different network. A matching ticker does not prove that a token is the same asset.
To hold or transfer BTCD, use a wallet that supports Ethereum tokens and make sure the receiving address is an Ethereum address. Before sending funds, verify the token contract through Bitcoin Dollar’s official channels and check that your wallet or exchange supports deposits and withdrawals on Ethereum. A transfer sent to an incompatible network or incorrect address may be difficult or impossible to recover. Ethereum transactions also require ETH to pay network fees; the amount varies with network conditions and is separate from any protocol charges. If you plan to use the protocol’s vaults, confirm that the specific vault is live and review its deposit and withdrawal instructions. The Bitcoin Carry Vault is in planning, and the bdBTC Vault is in development, so do not treat either as an available product.
## How much BTCD exists, and how easy is it to trade?
As of November 8, 2026, BTCD’s reported circulating and total supply were both about 2.06 million tokens. No maximum supply is listed, so there is no published cap to compare with the current supply. Those figures can change; check the token contract and current market information before relying on them.
On that date, BTCD traded at about $0.89, with a market capitalization near $1.8 million and reported 24-hour trading volume of about $214. These are snapshots, not stable values or a promise that you can trade at those levels. The reported all-time high was $1.06 on September 23, 2026, and the all-time low was about $0.89 on September 15, 2026. Low reported volume can make it harder to trade a larger amount near the displayed price, and prices may differ between venues. Before you acquire BTCD, check the exact token, available trading depth, fees and any withdrawal restrictions on the venue you intend to use.
## How can you store BTCD without losing control of it?
For self-custody, keep BTCD in a wallet for which you control the recovery phrase or private keys, and protect those credentials offline. Never share the phrase with anyone or enter it into a site or app reached through an unsolicited message. Use a hardware wallet if that fits your needs, and consider a small test transfer before moving a larger balance.
Confirm that the wallet is set to Ethereum and that the token contract matches Bitcoin Dollar’s official contract details. A token name or ticker shown in a wallet is not enough to verify authenticity. If you use a centralized exchange instead, check that it supports the exact Ethereum asset and review its custody, account-security and withdrawal policies; the exchange controls the keys while your tokens are held there.
BTCD’s protocol also has vault products. Depositing into a vault is different from simply holding tokens in a wallet: it involves smart contracts and strategy exposure. Read the current deposit, withdrawal and loss terms before approving a transaction, and do not grant permissions you do not understand.
## What could go wrong when you hold or deposit BTCD?
BTCD combines crypto-market exposure with protocol and vault risks. Bitcoin’s price can fall, and the token may not consistently trade at the value you expect from its stated BTC/USD allocation. The USD Vault accepts USDC and deploys funds into strategies intended to maintain BTC-neutral positioning, but “BTC-neutral” is a strategy goal, not a guarantee against losses. The protocol uses Morpho isolated lending markets as part of its vault infrastructure, adding lending-market, collateral, liquidation and smart-contract risks. A vulnerability, oracle failure or liquidity shortage could affect access to funds or their value.
Yield can vary and may be low or negative; past or stated strategy returns do not assure future results. The Bitcoin Carry Vault is still in planning, while the bdBTC Vault is in development. Do not assume these products are live or that withdrawals will always be immediate. The protocol’s backing from Polygon Labs and Coinme does not insure your tokens or guarantee performance. Before using BTCD or a vault, check current contract and audit information, the strategy’s risks, withdrawal conditions and the amount you can afford to lose.
By the numbers
Bitcoin Dollar in numbers
Bitcoin Dollar (BTCD) is ranked #2,455 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $1.84M and a price of $0.8932 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($1.84M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 2.4% over 7 days, down 5.1% over 30 days. It trades about 16% below its all-time high of $1.06, set on Sep 23, 2026.
About 2.06M BTCD are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $214, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
BTCD has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

BTCD FAQs
What blockchain is BTCD on?
Bitcoin Dollar is deployed on Ethereum mainnet. Check the token contract and network before sending funds, because tokens with the same ticker on other chains may not be the same asset.
Is Bitcoin Dollar a stablecoin?
The protocol describes BTCD as a token with 50/50 exposure to BTC and USD. Its market price can still fluctuate, so it should not be treated as a dollar-backed stablecoin or a guarantee of equal value in each asset.
What is the difference between BTCD and sBTCD?
sBTCD is the protocol’s yield-bearing staked counterpart, while BTCD is the underlying token. Returns depend on underlying strategies and are not guaranteed; check current terms before staking or depositing.
How many BTCD tokens are there?
As of November 8, 2026, circulating and total supply were both about 2.06 million BTCD. No maximum supply is listed, and supply figures can change.
How do I store BTCD safely?
Use an Ethereum-compatible wallet and verify the official token contract before receiving or sending BTCD. Keep your recovery phrase private and offline, and remember that depositing into a vault adds smart-contract and strategy risks.
What is the market cap of Bitcoin Dollar?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Bitcoin Dollar had a market cap of about $1.84M, ranking #2,455 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of BTCD?
Bitcoin Dollar's all-time high is $1.06, reached on Sep 23, 2026. Its all-time low is $0.8887 (Sep 15, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of BTCD?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 2.06M BTCD were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
Which blockchains is BTCD on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum.
