Owning OLAS: Uses, Storage and Risks

OLAS is used for staking, governance and incentives across the Autonolas network. Your main decisions are which network to use, how to custody it and whether protocol activity is worth the added risks.

What can you do with OLAS?

OLAS is the token used by the Autonolas (also called Olas) network, which supports off-chain services such as automation, oracles and autonomous agents. If you hold OLAS, its main stated roles are staking, governance and incentives—not simply paying for access to an AI chatbot.

You can stake OLAS to help operate network services. Locking tokens as veOLAS gives you governance rights, so you can take part in decisions about the network. The protocol also uses OLAS in developer incentives and can use it to boost ETH donations to selected services. Holders can bond OLAS-related liquidity-pool shares to support protocol-owned liquidity.

These uses involve different commitments. Staking and locking can have withdrawal conditions or operational risks, while governance influence depends on the rules in force. Check the current terms for each activity before committing tokens; holding OLAS in a wallet alone does not automatically provide those benefits.

Which networks and wallets can hold OLAS?

OLAS is issued on several networks, including Ethereum, Mode, Solana, Robinhood Chain, Celo, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon and xDai. It is not identified as the native token of any one chain, so the network you choose matters when you send or receive it.

A wallet may support one OLAS version but not another. Before transferring, confirm that the sending platform and receiving wallet support the same network and token contract. A deposit sent over an unsupported network may not arrive, and recovery can be difficult or impossible. Keep a small amount of the relevant chain’s gas token available if you need to move OLAS on that network.

Bridged or wrapped representations can have different contract addresses and depend on bridge systems. Do not assume that tokens with the OLAS name on different networks are interchangeable in every app. Verify the network and contract address through Autonolas’s official channels and the wallet or exchange you intend to use.

How much OLAS exists, and is supply capped?

As of 2026-11-08, about 299.5 million OLAS were circulating, out of roughly 473.7 million total tokens. No maximum supply is specified, so do not treat the current total supply as a hard cap. Circulating and total supply can change as tokens are released or otherwise move into circulation.

The figures give you a snapshot, not a guarantee of future scarcity or value. Token emissions, incentive programs and staking arrangements can affect how much OLAS is available to trade or how much is held for network use. Check the project’s current token information before relying on a supply figure for a decision.

OLAS’s price can also change sharply. A dated market snapshot is not a forecast, and market capitalization depends on both price and the circulating-supply estimate. Avoid treating past highs, lows or short-term changes as evidence of what the token will do next.

How should you store OLAS safely?

For a basic hold, use a wallet that supports the network your OLAS is on. A hardware wallet can keep signing keys offline, while a reputable software wallet may be more convenient for frequent use. In either case, the seed phrase is the key to control: store it offline, keep it private and never enter it into a site or share it with someone claiming to offer support.

Check the network and token contract before adding OLAS to a wallet or making a transfer. For a first transfer to a new address, consider sending a small test amount, then confirm it arrived before sending more. Never approve a transaction you do not understand, especially one granting a contract permission to move tokens.

If you stake, lock tokens or bond liquidity, you take on extra risks beyond ordinary wallet custody. Read the current contract terms and understand how to exit, what permissions you grant and whether a service may be unavailable or lose value.

What could go wrong when you hold or use OLAS?

OLAS combines token-price risk with risks tied to the software and networks it uses. Its market price can fall, and a token’s roles in staking or governance do not guarantee demand, rewards or resale value. Rewards, if offered for a particular activity, can change and may not offset losses or costs.

Smart-contract bugs, compromised keys, faulty bridges and network outages can lead to lost or inaccessible tokens. Staking, locking and liquidity arrangements may add restrictions or exposure to contract failures. Governance also depends on participation and voting rules; owning OLAS does not ensure that your preferred proposal will pass.

Before using a protocol feature, check the exact contract, permissions, exit rules and any current security disclosures from Autonolas. Do not rely on unsolicited messages or search ads for contract addresses. Only commit an amount you can afford to lose, and keep long-term holdings separate from wallets used to connect to unfamiliar applications.

Autonolas in numbers

Autonolas (OLAS) is ranked #994 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $14.7M and a price of $0.0491 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $23.2M, so roughly 63% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 9.4% over 7 days, up 10.4% over 30 days, down 66.0% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $8.47, set on Jan 2, 2024.

About 299.5M OLAS are in circulation, from a total supply of 473.71M. No hard maximum supply is listed.

24-hour trading volume was about $296K, or 2.0% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

OLAS has token contracts on 10 chains we track, including Ethereum, Mode, Solana, Robinhood Chain. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

CoinGecko groups OLAS under AI tokens, AI agent tokens.
