## What does holding AFR let you do?

Afreum (AFR) is a Stellar-based token intended to power Afreum’s ecosystem of payments and financial apps. The project describes apps for wallet services, savings and time deposits, liquidity-pool swapping and staking, and peer-to-peer exchange. AFR is the ecosystem token; the project also describes AFRX as a separate rewards and future governance token, alongside local African country tokens.

That planned role does not mean every app requires AFR or that holding AFR gives you a current governance right. Check the terms and functionality of the specific Afreum app before relying on a feature, yield or token benefit. Savings products, staking and liquidity pools can expose you to risks beyond AFR’s market price, including app, liquidity and counterparty risks. The project’s stated aim is to support financial inclusion and crypto adoption in Africa, but that aim is not a guarantee of adoption, returns or token demand.

## Which wallet and network should you use for AFR?

AFR is issued on the Stellar blockchain; it is not listed as the native coin of a blockchain. You need a wallet that supports Stellar assets to receive and manage it. Afreum Wallet is described as a Stellar-compatible option, but you can use another compatible wallet if it supports the correct AFR asset.

Before sending funds, confirm the token’s asset details and issuer through a trusted Afreum channel. Stellar assets can share similar names or symbols, so a wallet display name alone is not enough to identify the right token. Send a small test amount first if you are unsure, and check whether the receiving service requires a memo. A mistaken address, unsupported asset or omitted required memo can make a transfer difficult or impossible to recover.

Do not assume AFR is available on another chain just because a bridge or exchange displays a similarly named token. Confirm the network and withdrawal method before depositing or withdrawing.

## How much AFR exists, and how liquid is it?

As of 2026-11-08, AFR’s reported circulating and total supply was about 8.0 billion, with a maximum supply of 8.0 billion. The figures indicate that nearly all of the stated maximum was in circulation on that date. Token supply alone does not tell you how much demand, liquidity or usable value the token has.

On the same date, AFR’s price was about $0.00048, its market capitalization about $3.9 million and its 24-hour trading volume about $1,100. These figures can change quickly; the low reported volume is a reason to check order depth and trading activity before assuming you can buy or sell at a displayed price. A small trade may move the market, and a quoted price may not be available for your full order.

AFR’s market data is not a forecast. Consider what you could afford to lose and avoid treating past prices or supply figures as a promise of future performance.

## How can you store AFR, and what can go wrong?

For self-custody, keep your wallet’s recovery phrase offline and private. Anyone with the phrase may be able to control its funds. Store a backup somewhere secure, use a strong device passcode, and never enter the phrase into a site or message claiming to provide support. If you use an exchange or app account instead, secure it with a unique password and available two-factor authentication; the provider may control access to withdrawals.

Before connecting a wallet to an Afreum app, check the requested permissions and transaction details. A signed transaction can authorize a transfer or other action, so do not approve requests you do not understand. Test with a small amount before moving a larger balance.

AFR holders face several risks: its market price can fall, and trading volume may be too low for a quick exit at a fair price. Stellar transactions are generally irreversible once confirmed. App or smart-contract problems, loss of account access, token-issuer issues, and mistakes with addresses or memos can also cause losses. Do not treat savings, staking or pool returns as guaranteed.

By the numbers

Afreum in numbers

Afreum (AFR) is ranked #1,857 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $3.85M and a price of $0.0004815 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($3.85M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 18.0% over 7 days, down 8.6% over 30 days, down 48.8% over the past year. It trades about 82% below its all-time high of $0.002740, set on Aug 24, 2025.

About 8B AFR are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 8B (100% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $1.11K, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

AFR has token contracts on Stellar. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
