Pulsar Money Review: Is Its Stablecoin Account Worth Trying?

Pulsar Money aims to combine USD and EUR accounts, stablecoin funding, a virtual card and DeFi yield. Before signing up, check access, provider terms and the full cost of swaps and card use.

By the SkyBitcoins review team · Updated

SkyBitcoins rating

Quick take

Pulsar Money may suit stablecoin users who want USD and EUR balances, a virtual card and access to advertised DeFi yield in one app. Its main draw is fee-free stablecoin funding at a stated 1:1 rate, but that does not establish the total cost of swaps or card use. Before adding funds, confirm that you can access the app and review provider terms, limits and withdrawal arrangements.

What can you do with Pulsar Money?

Pulsar Money is designed to bring stablecoin balances, USD and EUR account features, a virtual card and transfers into one app. It advertises funding a USD balance with USDT or USDC and a EUR balance with EURC at a 1:1 rate, then converting between USD and EUR. The virtual USD card is pitched for subscriptions and international purchases, while account details are intended for receiving bank transfers.

Pulsar also promotes swaps between stablecoins and account currencies, plus an Earn feature using curated DeFi strategies. These are different services with different risks: a displayed USD or EUR balance may represent a digital asset rather than fiat held at a bank. Pulsar says it is a software interface and not a bank or custodian; relevant third-party providers deliver regulated or other services under their own terms.

Access is not fully clear. The site promotes an app for iOS and Android but also invites users to get early access. Confirm that registration and the features you need are available to you before planning to move money.

What could Pulsar cost beyond its free funding?

Pulsar advertises no monthly fee and zero Pulsar fees for stablecoin funding. It also states that funding is at a 1:1 rate, but terms and limits apply. These claims do not tell you the complete cost of using the product: conversion rates, swap spreads, card charges, bank-transfer fees, provider charges and network costs are not fully published.

The app's routing and conversion features may involve third-party services, whose pricing can differ from Pulsar's own fees. Before confirming a swap or payment, check the amount you will receive, any displayed exchange rate, and whether a separate provider or network charge applies. Do not assume that “zero-fee funding” means every transaction is free.

Pulsar advertises about 5.2% APY on stablecoins through curated DeFi strategies. The rate can change, and the advertised yield is not a guaranteed return. DeFi strategies, stablecoins and any provider handling funds can expose you to loss. Read the Earn terms and identify how withdrawals work before allocating money you may need soon.

Who holds your money, and what protections apply?

Pulsar Money SRL says it develops and operates the app as a software interface. Pulsar also says it is not a bank, payment institution, electronic money institution, card issuer, crypto-asset service provider or custodian. Regulated and third-party features are provided by the relevant authorised providers under their own terms. That makes it important to identify which provider holds or processes each balance, issues the card and handles transfers before you use those features.

Pulsar has not published an audit. The service's licensing arrangements, provider names and custody details are not clear from its stated terms. Its disclaimer also warns that amounts shown in fiat currencies may represent stablecoins or other digital assets rather than money held at a bank, and that digital assets and Earn features can result in loss.

Treat the advertised account balances as a user interface, not proof of deposit protection. Read the current terms, feature schedules and provider terms, and check what happens if a provider pauses service or you need to withdraw. Avoid putting in funds until you understand who controls them and what protections apply.

Which chains, card features and signup details should you check?

Pulsar lists USDT and USDC for USD funding and EURC for EUR funding, and specifically promotes low-cost USDT on TRON. The classification also associates the project with MultiversX and Arc, but the exact supported assets and routes on each chain are not clearly laid out. Confirm the deposit network in the app before sending anything: sending a token over an unsupported network can lead to loss or a difficult recovery.

The virtual USD card is intended for online subscriptions and international spending. Pulsar mentions expense tracking, alerts, two-factor authentication and biometric authentication. The issuer, card acceptance limits, card transaction fees, ATM access and delivery of a physical card are not specified. The product describes a virtual card, so do not assume that a physical card or Apple Pay or Google Pay is available.

The service advertises an iOS and Android app, but early-access language leaves the signup status uncertain. Check the current app availability and whether your location is supported. KYC requirements and processing times are not published; a third-party provider may set its own verification rules.

Where does Pulsar Money fall short?

Pulsar's clearest appeal is convenience: it aims to put stablecoin funding, currency conversion and card spending in one place, while advertising no monthly fee and no Pulsar funding charge. That can be useful if the app supports your assets and location and if the third-party providers' terms work for you. The advertised stablecoin yield may also attract users willing to take DeFi risk.

The trade-offs are significant. Pulsar does not provide a complete public breakdown of transaction costs, limits, card-provider arrangements, KYC or custody, and the Earn rate is not guaranteed. It is not a bank account, and the project says it is not a custodian. App availability is also unclear because the site advertises downloads while inviting users to get early access.

Choose a conventional bank or a provider with clearly documented protections if you need insured deposits, established card terms or predictable access to funds. If you do proceed, start only after checking the live terms and provider identities, and test with a small amount before sending a larger balance.
