Polia Review: Should You Use SellPolia?

Polia, also called SellPolia, is a marketplace for buying and selling Sepolia testnet ETH. You can pay with real crypto, so check the price, fees and contract risks before using it.

SkyBitcoins rating

Quick take

SellPolia may suit developers who need Sepolia test ETH and want to pay with assets on Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum or BNB Chain. Its main draw is buying SETH without bridging first; sellers instead face a FIFO queue, tier-based pricing and a payout threshold. Before depositing, check the current quote and contract details: an audit and fee schedule are not published, and buyers spend real crypto on testnet ETH.

Who Polia suits

Good for

  • Developers who need Sepolia ETH for testing and want to pay from a supported chain.
  • Users already holding supported stablecoins or native tokens who want SETH without bridging first.
  • SETH holders willing to accept queue-based sales and delayed ETH payouts.

Not for

  • Anyone seeking ETH for Ethereum mainnet transactions; SETH is for Sepolia testing.
  • Users who need guaranteed immediate seller liquidity; orders wait in a first-come queue and payouts run daily after the threshold.
  • People unwilling to send real crypto to a service whose audit, licence and KYC policy are not published.

What do you actually get when you buy SETH?

Polia, branded as SellPolia, is an on-chain marketplace for Sepolia testnet ETH, called SETH on the service. Buyers pay with USDC, USDT, DAI or native ETH on Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum or BNB Chain. The payment is converted to a USD amount and used to buy SETH, which the service says is delivered instantly from the seller queue or its reserve.

This is useful if you need testnet funds and would rather not bridge assets to get them. But SETH is not mainnet ETH: it is for testing on Sepolia and should not be used or valued as ordinary ETH. The marketplace accepts real crypto in exchange, so consider whether the SETH is worth that cost for your particular testing need. SellPolia describes the market price and rules as on-chain; check the live quote before confirming a purchase.

What does buying or selling through SellPolia cost?

The buyer pays the displayed buy price, and the service describes a single on-chain price for the market. When you pay with native ETH, Chainlink pricing is used to convert it to USD; the supported stablecoins are also priced on-chain. The project does not publish a fee schedule, so check the final transaction quote for any service charge, as well as the gas fee charged by the network you use.

Sellers receive a tier-based share of the buy price. The first tier pays 20%, and each additional 10,000 SETH sold over a seller's lifetime advances the tier by 10 percentage points, up to 100%. Each deposit is a separate order of at least 1 SETH, and orders fill in first-in, first-out order. Sold value accrues in USD, then converts to ETH at payout time. You need 10 SETH sold before a payout; below that, the balance carries forward. Network gas and the wait for queue fills matter when judging what you will actually get.

How much should you trust the contracts and vault?

The service describes queue order and seller tiers as on-chain rules, and says Chainlink's ETH/USD feed is used for seller payout conversion with staleness checks. It also advertises a 100,000 SETH fallback reserve for buyers if the seller queue is empty. These are useful design details, but they do not establish that the contracts are secure or that the reserve will always be available.

SellPolia does not publish an audit, licence, named operating team or KYC policy. The marketplace requires deposits into a vault, so sellers take smart-contract and operational risk while funds await a queue fill and payout. Buyers also send real assets to purchase testnet tokens. Do not deposit more than you can afford to lose, and review the contract addresses and transaction permissions in your wallet before signing. A dedicated payout address can reduce exposure if your trading wallet key is compromised, but it does not remove contract risk.

How do deposits, queue fills and payouts work?

Buying is designed to avoid a separate bridge step: choose one of the five supported networks, select a supported stablecoin or native token, and pay. The service says SETH is delivered instantly from the queue, or from its reserve if there are no queued sell orders. Network congestion and the transaction itself can still affect how long a purchase takes. The homepage does not give a mobile-app offering or detailed wallet compatibility list, so confirm your wallet supports the chosen chain and token.

Selling requires sending SETH to the vault. Your order joins the back of the queue, with its position determined by block number and log index. When buyers take SETH, the front orders fill first. Payouts run once a day, but only after at least 10 SETH has sold for you; reaching that threshold does not mean an immediate transfer. Eligible balances are paid as native ETH on Base to your configured payout address. You will need a wallet that can receive ETH on Base and should verify the address carefully.

What are the main risks and limits to check first?

The central trade-off is clear: SellPolia offers access to SETH from several networks, but buyers spend real crypto on a testnet token. For sellers, a first-come queue means timing depends on buyer demand, and the tier schedule starts at a 20% share of the buy price. The 10 SETH payout threshold and daily batch add further delay. The stated reserve is a fallback for buyers, not a promise that sellers can exit quickly.

Before trying it, compare the final buy quote with the value you place on Sepolia testing access, including gas. If selling, check your queue position, tier and accumulated balance, and understand that the USD amount converts to ETH at payout time. Fees, an audit, licence, KYC policy and detailed team information are not published. Check that the wallet and contracts shown in the app match the intended network, and avoid signing transactions you do not understand.

5 steps

How to start with Polia

  1. 1

Confirm you need Sepolia testnet ETH, not ETH for mainnet use, and decide how much you are willing to spend or deposit.

  2. 2

Open SellPolia with a wallet that supports your chosen network; verify the network and token before connecting or signing.

  3. 3

For a purchase, inspect the final quote and gas cost before approving USDC, USDT, DAI or native-token payment.

  4. 4

For a sale, check the FIFO position, tier share and payout threshold; send only the SETH amount you can risk leaving in the vault.

  5. 5

Set and verify a Base-compatible payout address, then track the order and payout transaction on-chain.

Polia FAQs

What is Polia (SellPolia)?

SellPolia sells Sepolia testnet ETH (SETH), not ETH for Ethereum mainnet. SETH is intended for testing applications on Sepolia and should not be treated as interchangeable with mainnet ETH.

Which payment methods and networks does SellPolia support?

Buyers can pay with USDC, USDT, DAI or the native gas token on Ethereum, Base, Optimism, Arbitrum or BNB Chain. Check the displayed quote and any applicable fees before confirming; fees are not published.

How do SETH sellers get paid?

Each deposit is a separate FIFO queue order, with a minimum deposit of 1 SETH. Your seller tier determines your share of the buy price, and payouts are sent in native ETH on Base in a daily batch once at least 10 SETH has sold.

Is SellPolia safe and does it require KYC?

The described payout process converts your USD balance into ETH using Chainlink's ETH/USD feed and sends it to your chosen payout address on Base. SellPolia does not publish an audit, licence or KYC policy, so assess those unknowns before depositing.

Can I use SellPolia's SETH on Ethereum mainnet?

No. SETH is Sepolia testnet ETH, not a substitute for mainnet ETH. The service accepts real crypto for SETH and pays eligible sellers in real ETH, but that does not make SETH a mainnet asset or establish that it has broader market value.
