SkyBitcoins rating

Quick take

Biquid suits BFC holders who want staking rewards while keeping a token they can use in supported DeFi. Its main appeal is the liquid receipt tokens, plus a stated seven-day unstaking route with no withdrawal fee. Before depositing, check the current reward rate and whether you can exit through a liquid DEX market; Biquid’s audit claim lacks detailed public documentation.

Is it for you?

Who Biquid suits

Good for

  • BFC holders who want staking rewards without leaving their position entirely illiquid
  • DeFi users on Bifrost Network who want to use stBFC or wstBFC in supported services
  • Users comfortable managing wallet, smart-contract and DEX liquidity risks

Not for

  • People who may need guaranteed immediate access to their BFC, since the standard unstaking route takes seven days
  • Users who want a published, detailed audit and independently documented security evidence before staking
  • Anyone who does not want exposure to Bifrost Network, smart-contract or DEX liquidity risks

What do you get when you stake BFC on Biquid?

Biquid is a liquid staking service for BFC on Bifrost Network. When you stake BFC, you receive stBFC or wstBFC, which represent your staked position and its rewards. Biquid says it delegates BFC to validators and distributes staking rewards every 12 hours.

The two receipt tokens work differently. stBFC is described as rebasing: your token balance grows as rewards accrue, while its exchange ratio with BFC is intended to stay at 1:1. wstBFC does not increase in quantity; instead, its value relative to BFC rises as rewards accumulate. You can wrap or unwrap between them.

Biquid promotes using these tokens in DeFi, including supplying wstBFC as collateral on BiFi or adding BFC/wstBFC liquidity on Everdex. These uses can add lending, liquidation or pool risks on top of staking. Check that each integration is still available and understand its terms before moving your receipt tokens.

What could staking and withdrawing cost you?

Biquid says it charges no additional service fees beyond minimal node-operating costs and network gas, and that node costs are reflected in the annual percentage yield. You still need to pay the Bifrost Network’s transaction gas when staking, wrapping or moving tokens. The project does not publish a specific fee schedule or the exact node-cost deduction.

The site displays a 7.8% APY, but the figure is not dated and should not be treated as a guaranteed or current return. Staking rewards can change with network conditions and validator performance. Check the live rate before deciding whether the expected return is worth the risks.

If you wait through the normal unstaking process, Biquid says you can withdraw without fees after seven days. An immediate exit through a DEX such as Everdex can involve trading fees, slippage and limited liquidity. The exchange rate you get may be less favorable than the nominal value of your receipt tokens, particularly if the pool is shallow or imbalanced.

How much can you trust Biquid with your BFC?

Biquid describes its staking as non-custodial, which means you interact through your wallet rather than handing funds to a conventional account custodian. That can reduce counterparty exposure, but it does not remove the risks of smart-contract bugs, validator problems, network failures or a loss of liquidity in markets for stBFC and wstBFC.

Biquid says the service was audited by Theori. However, detailed audit documents and their scope are not published on the site, and no audit is listed in the referenced audit directory. Treat the audit statement as a project claim, not proof that the contracts are free of vulnerabilities. Biquid also describes Bifrost Network’s cross-chain security and validator arrangements, but those statements do not guarantee recovery if something goes wrong.

Before staking, confirm the contract and network details through Biquid’s official app and documentation. Start with an amount you can afford to leave at risk, and avoid using a receipt token as collateral unless you understand liquidation conditions and can manage them.

What do you need to start using Biquid safely?

Biquid’s app includes stake, wrap, dashboard and withdraw functions, and asks you to connect a wallet. You need a wallet that supports Bifrost Network and enough BFC for the stake plus transaction gas. The app also shows a network selection, so check that you are on mainnet rather than testnet before signing a transaction involving real funds.

A basic route is to connect your wallet, review the staking amount and displayed terms, then stake BFC and confirm the transaction in your wallet. Once the receipt token arrives, you can hold it, wrap stBFC into wstBFC, or use a supported DeFi integration. Read each transaction prompt carefully; lending and liquidity actions are separate financial risks, not part of a guaranteed staking return.

No mobile-app availability or transaction-speed guarantee is published. Use the official app and documentation, and verify network and token details before approving transactions. If you are unsure what a wallet approval permits, do not sign it until you have checked the relevant contract and action.

Can you get your BFC out immediately?

There are two exit paths. Biquid describes standard unstaking as a seven-day process, after which you can withdraw BFC without an added withdrawal fee. That is the clearer route if you can wait, but your funds are not immediately available during the unstaking period.

For a faster exit, Biquid points to decentralized exchanges such as Everdex, where you can swap stBFC or wstBFC for BFC. This depends on available liquidity and the price at the time of the trade. A DEX swap is not the same as a guaranteed one-to-one redemption: fees, slippage or an unfavorable pool ratio can reduce the amount you receive.

Biquid does not publish withdrawal limits or a guaranteed processing time for the standard route beyond the seven-day period. Check the app’s current withdrawal instructions and the DEX pool depth before you commit funds, especially if you might need to exit quickly.

Where does Biquid fall short?

Biquid’s main trade-off is liquidity: its receipt tokens give you more options than locked staking, but neither token guarantees that you can sell at a fair price whenever you want. Using them in lending or liquidity pools introduces additional risks, including liquidation, impermanent loss and losses from a protocol or contract failure.

You also depend on Bifrost Network, its validators and Biquid’s staking contracts. The seven-day unstaking delay may not suit users who need flexible access to funds, while an instant DEX sale depends on market liquidity. The public security details are limited: Biquid makes an audit claim, but does not publish the report or its scope on the site.

Biquid may be useful if you already understand BFC and plan to use the receipt tokens, but it is not a low-risk place to park money. Compare the live return with the risks, avoid staking funds you may need soon, and do not assume a displayed APY or token exchange ratio is guaranteed.

4 steps

How to start with Biquid

  1. 1

Check that Biquid and Bifrost Network are available to you, and confirm that the app is set to mainnet.

  2. 2

Connect a wallet that supports Bifrost Network and keep enough BFC for gas as well as staking.

  3. 3

Review the current reward rate, unstaking period and token details before staking a modest amount.

  4. 4

If you use stBFC or wstBFC in DeFi, check the protocol terms and risks separately; plan whether you can wait seven days or rely on DEX liquidity to exit.

Biquid FAQs

What does Biquid do?

Stake BFC on Biquid and receive stBFC or wstBFC. The tokens represent your staked position and can be used in supported DeFi services, such as lending or liquidity pools.

How often does Biquid pay staking rewards?

Biquid says rewards are distributed every 12 hours. Its site displays a 7.8% APY, but that figure can change and has no date attached, so check the current rate in the app before staking.

How do you withdraw from Biquid?

Biquid describes unstaking as fee-free after a seven-day waiting period. For an immediate exit, it points to decentralized exchanges such as Everdex; the price and liquidity there may affect how much BFC you receive.

What fees does Biquid charge?

Biquid says it charges no extra fees beyond minimal node-operating costs and network gas. You may also face DEX fees or price impact if you exchange your receipt tokens for BFC instead of waiting to unstake.

Has Biquid been audited?

Biquid says it is non-custodial and audited by Theori, but detailed audit information is not published on its site, and no audit is listed in the referenced audit directory. Treat this as a claim to verify, not a guarantee that funds are risk-free.
