What does holding Vanguard xStock (VTIX) give you?
VTIX is a tokenized product intended to give you exposure to a Vanguard ETF, rather than a fund share held directly in your brokerage account. The xStocks project describes its tokens as backed 1:1 by underlying assets and says holders have a legal claim to the stock’s value. That is the project’s description of the product; check its current terms to understand how the claim works and what rights you actually receive.
Do not assume token ownership automatically gives you the same rights as owning ETF shares through a broker. Voting, dividend handling, redemption and transfer rules can depend on the issuer’s terms and the platform you use. Before holding VTIX, confirm the exact underlying asset and how the token tracks it. A token’s market price can also differ from the value of the underlying ETF, especially when trading is thin.
Which networks and wallets can hold VTIX?
VTIX is issued on Arbitrum, Solana, Ethereum and BNB Chain. It is not the native coin of any of these networks; it is a token that exists on them. If you buy or transfer it, select the same network on both the sending and receiving sides. Sending tokens to an address on an unsupported network can make them difficult or impossible to recover.
You need a wallet that supports VTIX on the specific chain you choose. A self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys, while a centralized exchange may hold the tokens for you under its own custody and withdrawal rules. Before depositing, check the platform’s supported network and confirm the token contract through an official project or exchange channel. The project information here does not identify contract addresses, so don’t choose one based only on a token name or ticker; copycat tokens can use similar labels.
How much VTIX is circulating, and how liquid is it?
As of 2026-11-08, reported circulating supply was about 4,890 VTIX, while total supply was about 362,662. No maximum supply was reported. The large gap between circulating and total supply matters: the circulating figure alone does not show how many tokens could enter circulation later, so check for current supply and issuance disclosures before relying on it.
The same date’s reported price was about $372, with a market capitalization of about $1.8 million and 24-hour trading volume of about $597. These figures can change quickly, and the low reported trading volume is a reason to check order-book depth and likely execution price before trading. A displayed quote may not be the price you can get for a large order. None of these figures establishes whether VTIX is fairly valued or suitable for you.
How can you store VTIX without losing access?
For self-custody, first confirm that your wallet supports the chain on which you hold VTIX. Keep the recovery phrase offline and private; anyone who gets it can control your assets. Consider a hardware wallet if it fits your needs, and test a small transfer before moving a larger balance. Check the receiving address and network carefully each time.
If you hold VTIX on an exchange, review its custody and withdrawal terms and enable account protections such as a strong unique password and two-factor authentication. Exchange custody means you rely on the platform to safeguard and return your tokens. In either setup, beware of unsolicited messages, fake support accounts and websites asking you to connect a wallet or reveal your recovery phrase. A token sent to the wrong network or a malicious contract interaction may not be reversible.
What could go wrong when you hold VTIX?
VTIX combines crypto-market risks with risks tied to a tokenized financial product. The stated 1:1 backing does not remove issuer, custodian or legal-claim risk: you rely on the arrangements behind the token and the terms that govern your claim. Read those terms before treating VTIX as equivalent to holding the ETF through a broker. The project describes xStocks as compliant with EU regulations, but that statement alone does not tell you what protections apply to your individual purchase or location.
You also face smart-contract and bridge risks, network outages, exchange failure, low liquidity and price differences between VTIX and its underlying asset. A token may be hard to sell or transfer when a platform pauses service or a chain is congested. Check whether the product is available and permitted where you live, and how any relevant tax rules apply. Do not invest money you cannot afford to lose.
