## What does owning SFRXUSD mean?

SFRXUSD is Frax’s yield-bearing token for frxUSD. It uses the ERC-4626 vault-token standard: instead of rebasing your balance, it is designed to become redeemable for more frxUSD over time as the yield mechanism accrues. That means your SFRXUSD balance does not automatically grow; the redemption value is intended to increase.

The protocol describes its yield strategy as switching among governance-approved approaches: carry trades, algorithmic market operations (AMOs), and the Interest on Reserve Balances or Treasury-bill rate. Yield is not a guaranteed return. Strategy results, governance decisions and operating conditions can affect what the token is worth and what you can redeem.

SFRXUSD is not the same as holding cash or a bank deposit. Its dollar-related value depends on frxUSD and the systems supporting both tokens. As of 2026-11-08, SFRXUSD traded at about $1.22; that market price can differ from the amount you would receive through redemption.

## How do SFRXUSD yield and redemption work?

SFRXUSD is intended to be redeemed for frxUSD at an increasing rate, reflecting the yield accrued by the vault. Frax describes redemption as having no unstaking fee or price impact. That does not mean every route is cost-free: you may still pay network gas, and a third-party exchange or service may charge its own fees.

Before you rely on redemption, check the current process for the network where you hold SFRXUSD, the amount of frxUSD you expect to receive, and whether you can access that frxUSD afterward. Redemption value and the price available on an exchange are different things. If you sell SFRXUSD on a market, the buyer’s price may be above or below its redemption value, especially when liquidity is thin.

The yield mechanism uses strategies approved through Frax governance. Returns can vary, and no fixed APY or guaranteed rate is established by the token design described here. Consider whether you are comfortable with strategy, governance and smart-contract exposure before treating SFRXUSD as a place to hold dollar value.

## Which networks and wallets can hold SFRXUSD?

SFRXUSD is issued on Ethereum, Katana, Arbitrum, Mode, X Layer, Sei, Fraxtal and Sonic. It is not the native token of any of these networks. If you hold it in a wallet, choose the same network on which your token is held; sending it using a different network can result in lost or inaccessible funds.

Use a wallet that supports the relevant network and token standard, and confirm that it can display or interact with the specific SFRXUSD deployment. EVM-compatible wallets may support some of these networks, but support varies. Do not rely on a token name or ticker alone: check the contract address through Frax’s official channels before adding a token or making a transfer.

Multichain tokens can involve different contracts and liquidity on each network. If you use a bridge or a third-party exchange to move or trade SFRXUSD, you add that service’s own operational and contract risks. Check the destination network, token contract and withdrawal route before confirming a transaction.

## How much SFRXUSD exists, and what does its price show?

As of 2026-11-08, SFRXUSD had about 28.6 million tokens in circulating supply and about 28.6 million total supply. No maximum supply is reported. These figures can change as tokens are issued or redeemed, so treat them as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent limit.

The reported market price was about $1.22 on that date. A price above one dollar does not by itself show how much frxUSD you can redeem for each SFRXUSD, nor does it guarantee that you can sell at that price. Market price, vault redemption value and the value of the underlying frxUSD are related but distinct.

If you are comparing supply figures or checking a balance, make sure you are looking at the correct SFRXUSD contract on the correct network. Similar names, wrapped tokens and counterfeit token listings can make an incorrect asset appear genuine.

## How can you store SFRXUSD safely, and what can go wrong?

Keep SFRXUSD in a wallet where you control the recovery phrase or private keys, or use a reputable custody provider after weighing its custody risks. Store recovery details offline and never share them. For a transfer, send a small test amount first when practical, and verify the destination address, network and token contract before sending the rest.

The main risks are smart-contract bugs, errors in the vault or redemption process, and losses or reduced returns from the underlying strategies. Governance can change approved strategies. SFRXUSD also depends on frxUSD retaining its intended value and on there being a usable redemption or trading route. On any individual network, liquidity may be limited; bridges and exchanges introduce additional risks if you use them.

Do not assume that an increasing redemption rate means the market price cannot fall. Keep only an amount you can afford to expose to these risks, and check that you can access and redeem the token on its specific network before relying on it.
