What can you use PPC for?
Peercoin (PPC) is the asset used on the Peercoin network. You can use PPC to send value and pay network transaction fees; the project also describes proof-of-stake as part of its consensus design. Peercoin launched in 2012 and was among the early cryptocurrencies to use proof-of-stake.
The stated fee is 0.01 PPC per kilobyte, and the fee is destroyed rather than paid to a miner or validator. Actual transaction costs can depend on transaction size, so check the wallet’s fee estimate before confirming. PPC is not a privacy coin, and holding it does not give you a claim on a company, dividends or a guaranteed return.
If you are considering PPC as a payment or network asset, first check that the person or service receiving it accepts the exact PPC network you plan to use. A token with the same ticker on another chain may not be interchangeable with native PPC.
Which PPC network and wallet should you choose?
Peercoin runs its own network, while PPC token representations are also issued on Ethereum and Polygon. These versions are not automatically the same as native PPC on Peercoin. A wallet or exchange may support one form but not another, even when each is labelled PPC.
Before transferring, check the withdrawal or deposit network on both sides. Confirm the asset name, network and destination address format; do not select Ethereum or Polygon just because your wallet displays a PPC balance there. Sending an asset to an address or network the recipient does not support can make it difficult or impossible to recover.
For self-custody, choose a wallet that explicitly supports the network you intend to hold. A general Ethereum wallet can hold an Ethereum token representation but does not, by itself, give you a Peercoin-network wallet. Peercoin does not publish a single wallet choice as suitable for everyone, so check current wallet support and recovery options before moving funds.
How much PPC exists, and is there a supply cap?
As of 2026-11-08, Peercoin’s reported circulating and total supply were both about 30.54 million PPC. No maximum supply is specified. The project describes a design intended to reach an annual inflation rate of 1%, but that is not a hard cap or a guarantee that the circulating supply will remain fixed.
The supply can matter when you compare PPC with assets that have a fixed maximum. Peercoin also describes a deflationary element: transaction fees of 0.01 PPC per kilobyte are burned. That does not mean the overall supply must shrink, because new coins may also enter circulation through the network’s design.
These figures are a snapshot, not a promise of future scarcity or value. If supply is important to your decision, check a current Peercoin explorer or wallet data before acting, and distinguish native PPC from token representations on Ethereum or Polygon. Token versions may have their own contract-level supply figures.
How can you store PPC more safely?
For self-custody, keep your recovery phrase or private keys offline and private. Anyone who obtains them may be able to control the PPC held by that wallet. Do not share them with people claiming to provide support, and be wary of unexpected requests to connect a wallet or sign a transaction.
Check that your wallet supports the specific PPC network you hold. Keep a small test transfer in mind before moving a larger balance, especially when changing between native Peercoin and an Ethereum or Polygon token version. Confirm the receiving address and network in full; a familiar ticker alone is not enough.
Back up recovery information in a secure place separate from your device, and make sure you understand how to restore the wallet before relying on it. A self-custody wallet cannot usually reverse a transfer you authorized. If you leave PPC with an exchange or custodian, you depend on that provider’s access controls, withdrawal policies and continued availability.
What are the main risks of holding PPC?
PPC carries ordinary crypto-market risk as well as network and custody risks. As of 2026-11-08, its reported 24-hour trading volume was about $32, a very low figure that can make it harder to trade at a desired price or exit a position quickly. Market prices and liquidity can change sharply, and historical prices do not predict future performance.
Peercoin has no stated maximum supply, and its consensus and fee design may change or be implemented differently across services. Token versions on Ethereum or Polygon add smart-contract and bridge-related risks; a token representation can also trade differently from native PPC. Check the network and contract details through a trusted source before interacting with a token.
You could lose some or all of the money you put into PPC, or lose access through a wrong-network transfer, compromised keys, a faulty wallet or a service failure. Avoid relying on an advertised staking return unless you can verify how it is generated and what risks apply. Never invest money you cannot afford to lose.
By the numbers
Peercoin in numbers
Peercoin (PPC) is ranked #1,386 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $7.77M and a price of $0.2543 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($7.77M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 3.7% over 7 days, down 12.7% over 30 days, down 28.7% over the past year. It trades about 97% below its all-time high of $9.45, set on Jan 12, 2018.
About 30.54M PPC are in circulation. No hard maximum supply is listed, so new tokens can still be issued.
24-hour trading volume was about $32, or 0.0% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
PPC has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Polygon. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

PPC FAQs
Is PPC an Ethereum token?
Peercoin has its own network, and PPC token representations are also issued on Ethereum and Polygon. They are different network forms, so check the supported deposit and withdrawal network before transferring.
What is the maximum supply of Peercoin?
No maximum supply is specified. As of 2026-11-08, circulating and total supply were both about 30.54 million PPC; the project describes a design intended to reach 1% annual inflation, alongside burning transaction fees.
Can you stake Peercoin?
Peercoin describes proof-of-stake as part of its consensus design. You should check the current network and wallet documentation before attempting to participate, and do not assume a specific reward or return.
What is the Peercoin transaction fee?
Peercoin’s stated transaction fee is 0.01 PPC per kilobyte, and the fee is destroyed. The final fee can depend on transaction size, so review your wallet’s estimate before sending.
How do you store PPC safely?
Use a wallet that explicitly supports the network form you hold: native Peercoin, Ethereum, or Polygon. Keep recovery information private and offline, and verify the destination network before sending.
What is the market cap of Peercoin?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Peercoin had a market cap of about $7.77M, ranking #1,386 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of PPC?
Peercoin's all-time high is $9.45, reached on Jan 12, 2018. Its all-time low is $0.00000002813 (Apr 13, 2022). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
What is the circulating supply of PPC?
As of Nov 8, 2026, about 30.54M PPC were in circulation; no fixed maximum supply is listed.
Which blockchains is PPC on?
It has token contracts on Ethereum, Polygon.
