What can you use KIN for?
Kin (KIN) is a cryptocurrency intended for payments in apps, games, websites and other online services. Kin’s project description says it is used across independent services, including Code Inc.’s payment platform, which lets creators charge for online content in small payments. That does not mean every app accepts KIN: check the specific service’s payment options and make sure it supports the Solana version of the token before sending anything.
KIN began in 2017 and moved from Ethereum to Solana in 2020. The project describes the token as permissionless and says there is no central entity or foundation managing the Kin economy. A 2020 settlement between Kik Inc. and the U.S. SEC did not require Kin to be registered as a security; that settlement is not a guarantee that KIN or any service using it is risk-free or suitable for you.
Which chain and wallet should you use for KIN?
KIN launched on Ethereum and migrated to Solana in 2020. The current token facts identify Solana as its issued chain, so use a wallet that supports Solana tokens and confirm that any exchange deposit or withdrawal is set to Solana. A wrong-network transfer can leave your tokens inaccessible or lost.
Before receiving KIN, verify the token identity and network using a source you trust; don’t rely only on a token name or ticker, which can be copied by unrelated tokens. If you still hold an older Ethereum-era KIN, check carefully whether it is the migrated Solana token before sending it to a Solana address. Keep your wallet’s recovery phrase offline and private. No legitimate support agent needs that phrase to help you, and anyone who obtains it can take control of the wallet.
How much KIN exists, and how easy is it to sell?
As of November 8, 2026, reported circulating and total supply were both about 2.647 trillion KIN. The reported maximum was about 2.936 trillion. Kin describes its supply as fully distributed and noninflationary, but the reported maximum is higher than the circulating and total figures; don’t treat the maximum as the amount currently in circulation.
KIN’s quoted price was about $0.000000656 on that date, with a market capitalization of about $1.7 million and 24-hour trading volume of about $1,054. These figures change, and the low reported volume is a reason to check whether a market can handle the size of a trade you have in mind. A very small per-token price does not by itself make a token inexpensive or easy to sell. You may receive a different price than a displayed quote, especially in a thin market.
How can you store KIN safely, and what could go wrong?
For self-custody, keep KIN in a Solana-compatible wallet you control, protect its recovery phrase offline, and consider a hardware wallet if it suits your needs. Send a small test amount before a larger transfer, confirm the network and token identity, and be wary of unsolicited messages, fake support accounts and requests to connect your wallet or reveal its recovery phrase.
KIN can lose value, and its reported trading volume was low as of November 8, 2026, which may make selling harder or affect the price you receive. Wallet mistakes and compromised keys can also cause permanent losses. Kin says it has no central entity or foundation managing the economy, so don’t assume there is a single operator able to reverse a transfer or resolve a dispute. Separately, Kindred Labs appears to build AI companions, but KIN’s role in that product has not been established: verify that Kindred Labs explicitly supports KIN before sending tokens or treating it as a payment method.

Kin (KIN) is ranked #2,505 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $1.74M and a price of $0.0000006559 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($1.74M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 16.4% over 7 days, down 49.7% over 30 days, down 20.9% over the past year. It trades about 100% below its all-time high of $0.001226, set on Jan 6, 2018.
About 2.65T KIN are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 2.94T (90% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $1.05K, or 0.1% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
KIN has token contracts on Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
KIN is linked to Kindred Labs, which we cover in our AI rankings. See our Kindred Labs page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

KIN FAQs
Is KIN an Ethereum or Solana token?
KIN’s current issued chain is Solana. It began on Ethereum and migrated to Solana in 2020, so check the network carefully if you encounter an older KIN token.
What is KIN used for?
Kin describes KIN as money for independent apps, games, websites and services, including Code Inc.’s creator-payment platform. Acceptance varies, so confirm that the specific service supports KIN before transferring tokens.
What is KIN’s maximum supply?
As of November 8, 2026, reported circulating and total supply were about 2.647 trillion KIN, with a reported maximum of about 2.936 trillion. The project describes supply as fully distributed and noninflationary, but the reported figures differ, so check current token data.
Does Kindred Labs use KIN?
The available project details do not establish that Kindred Labs uses KIN or accepts it for AI companion services. Confirm support directly with the service before sending tokens.
How do you store KIN safely?
Use a wallet that supports Solana tokens, keep your recovery phrase private and offline, and verify the token and network before transferring. A mistaken transfer or exposed recovery phrase can result in permanent loss.
