## What does EXTRA do?
EXTRA is Extra Finance’s ERC-20 utility token. The protocol describes EXTRA emissions as rewards for liquidity providers. It also has a separate governance token, veEXTRA: holders can vote-escrow EXTRA to receive veEXTRA, which carries governance rights and may provide access to protocol rewards and features.
The distinction matters if you are deciding what to do with your tokens. Holding EXTRA is not the same as holding veEXTRA, and the project describes rewards for veEXTRA holders as coming from protocol fees and token incentives. veEXTRA holders may also access leverage of up to 4x in yield-farming pools and certain lending pools. Those benefits depend on protocol rules and may involve additional risks; they are not guaranteed returns. Check the current terms, reward schedule and any locking or withdrawal conditions before committing tokens.
## Which chains can you hold EXTRA on?
EXTRA is listed as issued on Optimism and Base. Extra Finance’s lending and leveraged yield-farming protocol is described as operating on Base, Optimism and Berachain. That does not mean every token representation or feature is available on every network, so confirm the specific chain before sending funds.
EXTRA is an ERC-20 token, so you need a wallet that supports the network where your tokens are held. Before a transfer, check that the wallet is connected to the correct chain and that the receiving platform supports EXTRA on that same chain. A token sent using an unsupported network may be difficult or impossible to recover. If you use a bridge, verify the destination token and route carefully; bridged tokens and native-chain versions can have different risks. Never rely on a token name or ticker alone to identify the right asset.
## How much EXTRA is in circulation?
As of 2026-11-08, EXTRA’s reported circulating supply was about 486.5 million, its total supply about 843.3 million, and its maximum supply 1 billion tokens. Circulating supply is the amount counted as circulating; total supply includes tokens outside that figure. The maximum is a stated cap, not the amount currently in circulation.
The same date’s snapshot put EXTRA at about $0.0042, with a market capitalization near $2 million and 24-hour trading volume around $231. These figures can change quickly, and low trading volume can make it harder to trade at a price close to a displayed quote. Supply figures alone do not indicate what a token is worth or whether you can sell a particular amount at a quoted price. Check current market conditions and the relevant chain before making a transaction.
## How should you store EXTRA safely?
You can store EXTRA in a self-custody wallet that supports ERC-20 tokens on Optimism or Base. For stronger protection of a long-term holding, consider a hardware wallet used with compatible wallet software. Keep your recovery phrase offline and private; anyone who gets it can control the assets. No legitimate support representative needs your recovery phrase or private keys.
Use the network matching the token in your wallet, and verify the destination address before sending. If EXTRA does not appear automatically, use the wallet’s token-import feature only after checking the token contract address against an official Extra Finance channel. Be cautious of search results, unsolicited messages and fake support accounts offering token recovery or airdrops. A self-custody wallet cannot usually reverse a mistaken transfer, and an exchange account has different custody and withdrawal risks from a wallet whose keys you control.
## What could go wrong with EXTRA?
EXTRA’s value can fluctuate, and its reported trading volume was low in the 2026-11-08 snapshot. That can mean wider spreads or difficulty selling a larger amount without affecting the price. Token emissions and reward arrangements can also change the amount of EXTRA in circulation or the incentives for holding veEXTRA.
Extra Finance also offers leveraged yield farming and lending, which carry risks beyond simply holding the token. Leverage can magnify losses, and positions may be liquidated if market movements or borrowing costs work against them. Lending pools can face changing rates, utilization and smart-contract risks. If you vote-escrow EXTRA, check the current lock-up and exit terms before proceeding; those details determine how quickly you can regain access to your tokens. Use only funds you can afford to lose, and do not treat advertised rewards as guaranteed income.
