Owning CFG: Uses, Storage and Risks
CFG is Centrifuge’s protocol token, not a claim on a tokenized fund. Understand its uses, Ethereum wallet requirements, supply and risks before holding it.

What does CFG do, and what does holding it mean?
Centrifuge builds infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets, including funds. CFG is its protocol token; it is not the same thing as a share in a tokenized fund. Holding CFG alone does not give you a claim on the assets held by a fund or guarantee access to one.
Reported CFG uses include staking and paying network transaction costs. The project also describes CFG as part of operating the protocol, but you should check current protocol documentation before relying on a particular function or assuming you can earn a return. Staking can involve lockups, changing rewards or other conditions, and it does not remove the risk that CFG’s market price may fall.
If your aim is exposure to a particular tokenized fund, assess that product separately from CFG. Check its fees, investor eligibility, asset backing, redemption rules and any restrictions before committing funds. CFG’s price and the value or performance of a Centrifuge-supported product are not interchangeable.
Which wallet and network should you use for CFG?
CFG is issued on Ethereum, so you need an Ethereum-compatible wallet to hold the Ethereum version. A self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys; a hardware wallet can keep those keys offline when not in use. You can also hold CFG with a crypto exchange if it supports the token, but then the exchange controls the keys and withdrawal availability depends on its policies.
Before depositing or withdrawing, confirm that both the sending and receiving services support CFG on the same network. Don’t assume a token with the same name on another chain is interchangeable with the Ethereum-issued token. Check the contract address against Centrifuge’s official channels before adding a token manually; a matching name or ticker does not prove that a token is genuine.
For self-custody, back up your recovery phrase offline, never share it, and test a small transfer if you are unsure about an address or network. A mistaken transfer or lost recovery phrase may be irreversible. Keep enough ETH in the wallet for Ethereum transaction fees when you need to move CFG.
How many CFG tokens exist, and can supply grow?
As of 2026-11-08, about 380.4 million CFG were circulating, out of 680 million total tokens. No maximum supply is listed. Circulating supply is the amount currently counted as available in the market; total supply includes tokens that may not yet be circulating. Those figures can change, so check them again before making decisions.
A gap between circulating and total supply means more tokens could potentially enter circulation, but these figures alone do not tell you when that might happen or how much will be released. Centrifuge does not publish a maximum supply in the token figures cited here, so don’t treat the total supply as a hard cap.
Supply is only one part of understanding CFG. It does not show demand, liquidity, token distribution or whether the token has a practical use for you. If you are considering a tokenized fund on Centrifuge, its investment terms and redemption conditions matter separately from CFG’s supply.
What can go wrong when you hold CFG?
CFG carries market risk: its price can move sharply, and the token may be difficult to sell at a desired price when trading is thin. As of 2026-11-08, its market value and trading activity were modest compared with the largest cryptoassets; figures can change quickly. Past price movements do not indicate what will happen next.
There are also protocol and product risks. Tokenized real-world assets can depend on legal arrangements, asset managers, service providers and off-chain records, as well as blockchain software. A problem with a smart contract or a failure involving an issuer or underlying asset could affect a product even if CFG itself keeps working. The terms for each fund can differ, including who may invest and how or when they can redeem.
Treat CFG and a tokenized fund as separate decisions. Read the relevant product documents, check whether you are eligible, and understand fees and exit conditions before using a product. Don’t invest money you cannot afford to lose, and remember that staking, if available, adds operational and lockup risks rather than making CFG risk-free.
How do you store CFG more safely?
Use a wallet you control if you want direct custody, and protect its recovery phrase as carefully as you would cash or account credentials. Write the phrase down and store it offline in a secure place; don’t put it in a cloud document, send it in a message or enter it into a site reached through an unsolicited link. A hardware wallet can reduce exposure to malware, but it cannot protect you if you approve a malicious transaction or disclose your phrase.
Check wallet addresses and network details before confirming a transfer. Be cautious of fake CFG tokens, impersonation accounts, airdrop messages and requests to connect your wallet or sign transactions. A signature can authorize an action even when it does not look like a normal token transfer, so read wallet prompts and reject anything you do not understand.
If you use an exchange, enable strong account security and understand its withdrawal rules. If you stake CFG, verify the official method and any lockup or withdrawal conditions first. Never share your seed phrase with someone claiming to provide support.
By the numbers
Centrifuge in numbers
Centrifuge (CFG) is ranked #554 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $36.2M and a price of $0.0950 as of Nov 8, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $64.6M, so roughly 56% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was down 0.1% over 7 days, down 29.2% over 30 days, down 48.7% over the past year. It trades about 76% below its all-time high of $0.4004, set on Aug 24, 2025.
About 380.38M CFG are in circulation, from a total supply of 680M. No hard maximum supply is listed.
24-hour trading volume was about $3.28M, or 9.1% of its market cap: high turnover.
CFG has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
CFG is linked to Centrifuge Protocol, which we cover in our Real-World Assets rankings. See our Centrifuge Protocol page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

CFG FAQs
Which network is CFG on?
CFG is issued on Ethereum, so use an Ethereum-compatible wallet for that version. Confirm the network and token contract before sending or receiving it.
What is CFG used for?
Reported uses include staking and paying network transaction costs. Check current protocol documentation for the functions available to you and any conditions before using CFG.
What is the supply of CFG?
As of 2026-11-08, about 380.4 million CFG were circulating, with 680 million total. No maximum supply is listed, and supply figures can change.
Does CFG give me a share of a Centrifuge fund?
Holding CFG alone should not be treated as ownership of assets in a tokenized fund. Review each fund’s eligibility, fees, asset information and redemption terms separately.
How can I store CFG?
You can use an Ethereum-compatible self-custody wallet or an exchange that supports CFG. With self-custody, protect your recovery phrase and check the receiving network carefully.
What is the market cap of Centrifuge?
As of Nov 8, 2026, Centrifuge had a market cap of about $36.2M, ranking #554 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of CFG?
Centrifuge's all-time high is $0.4004, reached on Aug 24, 2025. Its all-time low is $0.0672 (Feb 6, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
