Owning CARROT: Uses, Storage and Risks

CARROT is an Ethereum ERC-20 token connected to Puffer’s Season 2 rewards. It replaced Puffer Points earned through activities including staking, providing liquidity and gauge voting. Puffer described CARROT as convertible into PUFFER at a set rate after Season 2, but the conversion rate and whether conversion is still available are not published. Check the current Puffer instructions before treating CARROT as redeemable for PUFFER; do not assume the tokens are interchangeable.

Rewards were allocated through bi-weekly governance gauge votes by vePUFFER holders. Eligible participants, including vePUFFER holders, pufETH holders and liquidity providers, could claim rewards, which carried a 30-day lock after each claim. The project describes CARROT as a rewards token; don’t assume holding it alone gives you voting rights or ongoing rewards. Confirm the terms and claim deadlines directly with Puffer before interacting with any reward contract.

CARROT is issued on Ethereum, not as a native coin for a separate blockchain. You need an Ethereum-compatible wallet that supports ERC-20 tokens to hold or transfer it. The token contract address is 0x282a69142bac47855c3fbe1693fcc4ba3b4d5ed6; check it carefully before adding the token or sending funds, since similarly named tokens can be unrelated.

CARROT has been listed for trading on Uniswap. A decentralized exchange trade requires you to connect your wallet and approve transactions. You may also need ETH to pay Ethereum network fees; fees vary with network demand and are separate from any token price or exchange charges. Before swapping, check the token address, quoted output, slippage settings and transaction details in your wallet. A wallet display or token listing alone does not prove that a token is genuine or that a market has enough liquidity for your trade.

CARROT has a maximum and total supply of 100 million tokens. About 95.6 million were circulating as of 2026-11-08. The project describes emissions as dynamic and bi-weekly, with reward amounts allocated according to community-voted gauges. A capped maximum supply does not mean that all tokens are currently circulating, and emissions or reward rules can affect how the circulating amount changes.
